I think they will settle with AZ and bring her back and it will all be fine.

I wonder. In the past I'd agree it'd get swept under the rug like the Missy case and many others, but it's a different era and Corday is singled out re: #MeToo stuff here. He might never live that down as per bringing Ari back. Otherwise I agree, they settle and Ari is back in a month lol. It could definitely happen. I just get depressed thinking about it.

Ummm...they re-hired Missy after they sued her.  I don't think AZ has burnt her bridges here lol.

The key phrase there is that Days sued Missy, Missy didn’t sue Days. Ari is suing Days.

And they wouldn’t have sued Missy at all until she started negotiating with B&B a year later while still legally bound by the terms of her Days contract.

AZ has truly been through the ringer on this show.   She deserves a pay out.  But I don't know how they can continue this main story without her.

They probably had scripts prepared for Nicole assuming Ari would accept their terms. If that’s the case, someone has probably already assumed the role.

I don’t think the show was ever intended to continue after its 60th season.

It is bizarre to think that Nicole won't be around for the resolve of the baby switch story.

Arianne wont but I bet Days Recasts Nicole

Neither do I. If they can bring Missy back after how they dragged her through the mud they can rehire anyone.

I'm not really interested in that though. I think Corday has to go or the show does, and I don't think Ken is going to ever let go.

Ken owns the show. I don’t think he intends for it to continue after he retires. His kids are not interested in the family business.

Okay, for discussion sake, Missy was legally bound by her contract on Days at the time.  She left before it finished.  That's 100% a reason to sue by law lol.  And her seeking out other daytime contracts while still under a Days contract is ridiculous.  Her personal problems mean nothing in a business transaction.  She is expected to fulfill the terms she agreed to.

Ari will air into June/July. The resolution of the baby switch is probably the first thing Ron wrote after the strike.

Fine

I still say Days will recast Nicole

Corday likes Missy and chose not to sue her until he really had to, which came a year after her exit. Perhaps she thought she was no longer bound to those terms. I love Missy’s Jennifer but Corday was right to sue her when she tried to join Bold (likely at her creepy husband’s behest).

I do too. In fact, she’s probably already been recast.

Well, it's still on Missy.  She didn't have lawyers, advisors, or agents to advise her against making moves towards another soap?  At the end of the day Corday was right to sue.  It put Days in a hell of a bind.  They had to emergency recast, scrap spinoff plans, and move on with no notice because Missy had an affair.   Her creepy husband aside, MR was an adult and screwed up.  If she wanted to save her family that's absolutely fine, but she's still lucky they ever invited her back.  Unfortunately, nothing I have seen has made me think she's a good person and I don't even like CM as Jen but at least she's a reliable, seemingly nice human who will show up when she needs to.

Corday does need to go, but that's never going to happen.

It may tank the show & seal the deal that Peacock will not renew for another time. If they were smart they'd act fast & settle on her & rehire her & maybe those optics would outweigh the current & upcoming UGH. She's going to win at least the first half but it sounds like they've already dug in. It is amazing Corday has the nerve to say the claims are baseless given what is already on record. An attorney should have made him say "No comment."

I am not a legal expert by any means.  My sister is the lawyer in the family.  But I think she has a pretty solid case?  Corday will pay her out IMO.

Yes, I think in the end they will definitely end up settling a substantial amount of money on Ari. But, they will drag it out & wrangle & stupidly say what obviously did happen, did not & that will be in the news every day. And, California courts are far behind in timeliness. Plus, others could come forward or even a class action suit. Whoa.
