Don Frabotta, Gloria Loring, Denise Alexander, ... all good suggestions, I think, but no idea what they would or wouldn't try to make happen. As for when, Doug is alive on the show as of July 11th. That was announced as his last air date. So a memorial is many many months away.

I pretty much agree with you. The scab writers are doing a better job of writing for the characters but the pairings Ron left them are boring and uninteresting.

The scabs paused their best story and now were left with nothing. That's why I'm no longer watching Days.

My impression is that the show is not sexy enough given that it is on streaming.  I'm not asking for nudity, and I recognize that last year's three-way with Alex, Chanel, and Allie would probably not have made it to air on NBC.  However, last week's scene between Ava and Stefan was still pretty chaste.  As I noted yesterday, Abe is having sex with his tee shirt on.  And Alex and Theresa just smooch on the sofa.  As single adults, it seems immature that Alex is this upset about Theresa just kissing Brady, rather than how uninhibited she really would have been, considering that she was rolling on molly.

I wouldn't be opposed to slightly extended love scenes, a bit more adult language, and tinge more skin. I know that the backstage drama was not conducive to actors feeling safe while performing more risqué scenes, but we were promised more adult content when it moved to Peacock.

"Boring and uninteresting" says it all.

And let me complain -- again -- about the soaps making "journalism" a big deal. Chad and Everett working for The Spectator feels like some 1980 flashback. It's so dated that it's embarrassing. When I see this kind of thing, all I can think of is that it's time to kill off all the soaps. No one's even trying.

I don't think we really know what it means. Maybe they'll reach an agreement before a trial -- giving Arianne compensation + a new contract. Maybe Sony will play hardball.

If execs care about the show, they'll bring back Zucker -- one of DAYS' best actors in history. But do they care? I'm not sure they do.

    • I’m trying to think which actors VW were working with at the time, and none of them had been there for a while. Even like Mac and Ada didn’t have that big of a part in Rachel’s storyline.  And Jamie was involved with all that movie stuff.
    • Brooke did ads before ATWT too. That probably helped get her the job. After ATWT she seemed to branch more into hosting, along with ads.  I think I saw Kelley in an ad or two, but you're right she wasn't on as much.
    •   Thanks for sharing these. I wonder if Charles might have been in the running for Adam. I know Preacher was a bit of a bad boy at times on EON, but Neal seemed to be a step down, and Robert Lupone had played a similar part on AMC. Given the huge cast turnover at this point I wonder who thought they had been there long enough to go.  Laura Malone/Chris Rich would get a remote within the next year.
    • Interesting.  It seems to allude to that statement that Warren Burton made around that time about some AW actors getting special treatment.  I wonder who was resentful about not getting to go.
    • Good morning, boys!  I figured that it was time that our Gio was introduced into the hotness thread

    • Under all of Madonna's social media today there is this wave of negative, toxic, absurd comments by Lady Gaga fans telling her how Gaga surpassed her in concert in Copacabana. I mean... Who the hell cares? Why are these fan communities so freaking toxic??? I'm sure Madonna doesn't care... But still. Have some respect for M. Leave her social media alone. Go cheer Gaga and be happy. Why come and spew hate on M??? Crazy world.
    • FYI, again, Ruth/Letitia is not in either of these 2 episodes. So that concludes the 4 episodes I had from Nov. 1983. I don't have the October episodes.
    • Eddie has begun uploading the 1990 episodes. I'm so happy about that. I was mindfully taking a break till there's plenty of episodes I can binge watch when I feel like it. Now that 1989 is complete... I can't wait to press play on February 1989 and resume where I left off.

Me when someone asks me to be proper and demure.
    • This is just a guess but I feel like the fact that they keep mentioning her dead husband is for a reason. We know Martin has a secret that likely involved someone dying. Martin's victim could be Alan which Leslie/Dana either knows about or finds out and she uses that to blackmail the family into letting her crimes slide.
