Thank you. As you probably know Jamey is a darling to many on #SoapTwitter. I like the fact that he does in-jokes & drops in references to other soaps. I like the fact that he admires Irna to a huge degree, quotes her & writes like she did (And Bill & Agnes did) where he talks it all out using different character voices before he types it. And, after those two things I just can't figure how he got hired. Apparently you've known all this time!

See? I knew a straight girl like Talia had feelings for Chanel when she saw her in a Forever 21 dress as she walked into Small Bar. I knew it. Weirdly, Talia is serving her community service so quickly, while Kate still hasn't even lifted a finger to do hers. Just because Kate is a white girl, had some sickly virus, and was comatose for several months does not give her a pass. Bitch still needs to do her community service. Do you know what I'm saying? Mmmm-hmm.

The fireworks were so explosive for the 4th this year in Salem. It felt like I was watching them on television, all bored and alone with a box of stale Fiddle Faddle and no friends to celebrate the holiday with. Instead, I'm in the recliner, flipping the remote with my feline companion, Mr. Mittens. Only this sneaky little bastard wants cat nip, so he's pretending to be my companion. I know his little deviant ways.

I don't know what's so great about Sweet Bits. Was Chanel paying Talia a salary? If it was a wage, then, girl, it's time to move on, unless making bear claws is a way to be back in Paulina's sweet graces. That woman can scarf down some bear claws, let me tell you. Other than that, it was a ho-hum episode of DAYS, and I hope Abe will not be struck with a blunt object on the back of his head again because he's already endured a baseball bat and a rolling pen so far within a year. One more of these instances will lead Abe to suffer severe brain damage.

So, Megan’s gone? Just like that?

I’m sure she’ll be back soon but I still don’t get it. I really hope we find out what’s going on behind the scenes and who’s making all these stupid decisions. Not only for this, but for Bo and Hope’s disappearance as well.

She really should be on the canvas full time, especially now because Dimitri’s story is starting to pick up. The two of them were good today and I was hoping that their mother-son dynamic would be explored more. Both now and when it’s revealed what I still think is going to be revealed about Dimitri in the future.

I knew she was leaving soon. Another reason I stopped watching and others did too. She told her fans to keep watching. She would've loved to have stayed but hasn't been offered a contract to do so.

Yeah, I've become "weary" of how villainesses are portrayed in soaps nowadays. My gut says not to become too attached, as they'll be gone in a puff or poof of an instant. Who knows? Maybe Jan's coming back with a bag of poisonous cheeseburgers .

I guess Steve Burton isn't concerned about getting typecast as a mindless goon who is easily manipulated into becoming a contract killer.  Someone should tell him that it is not a compliment to his talent that he keeps getting parts as an emotionally detached guy recovering from brain surgery.

When Marlena's hypnotic abilities become a magical healing power?  She's like the good-Rolf, without the need for all that equipment.

Speaking of equipment, is anyone going to investigate how Li got a hold of plutonium for Rolf?  Certainly, that's a crime in and of itself.

When did Kristin decide to wear black leather every day, in the summer?

Speaking of fetishes, DAYS has a thing with handcuffing people to beds.

One of the biggest problems with DAYS is the constant in-and-out of major characters

It reeks of money problems, it reeks of writer ADHD, it reeks of treating actors horribly, it reeks of "Let's do something soaps have never done."

I cannot get used to it, and I never will.

It’s stupid.

If they’re so cash strapped, wouldn’t it make more sense to invest in the actors and characters that you already have instead of cycling more people in and out?

For a while, I even thought that if they were keeping Megan around, maybe that was the reason why the Bo and Hope story was botched, but my suspicions were clearly wrong lol

    • And of course Mama Ru herself appeared on All My Children.
    • The Saturday 8pm slot usually had the lowest rating of the NBC 4 sitcom lineup for some reason. NBC let Saturday night fizzle, They used 9.30 pm to launch 227 and Amen, both of which moved to earlier in the evening but they  kept Empty Nest following GG for several seasons.  Empty Nest should have moved to 8pm with their strongest new sitcom at 9.30, anticipating that GG would eventually falter. Instead they left them there and stretching the sitcom pool too thinly on other nights. When Grand talk over at 9.30 Thurs maybe Night Court and Wings could have been used on Saturday.
    • @Maxim Great to see your mini-reviews again. There are a number of clips on Youtube of Janice's slow mental breakdown, especially as we go into January 1980. Christine Jones is just superb. She played the hell out of that role. Something which isn't referenced as much later on is how Mitch pushed Janice's doubts and mental instability for his own ends...until suddenly he didn't want to anymore (I guess he caught on with the audience and the show became wary). I don't want to post a bunch of clips, but this one has a very good confrontation between Rachel and Janice.

This has a good scene around 7 minutes in where you can see Janice struggling internally with her need to identify herself so much by the men around her, all of which helps lead to her crackup.
    • It really made Oscar the Doorman seem like an imbecile.   I think the show's unusual format & subject manner is what makes EON often seem less "dated" and "old-fashioned" than other shows from that time period.  It never attempted to be especially "trendy" or "modern" -- and its film noir style is pretty timeless.
    • Dallas, Dynasty, Knots and Falcon Crest all had good runs but by 85 they had seen better days. I think they were a victim of the format. After several seasons seeing the same characters front and center viewers were bored. What was once fascinating grew predictable. JR, Alexis etc had to be front and center and after a while their schemes and shtick grew repetitive. JR remarrying Sue Ellen, Alexis constantly trying to get he better of Blake etc Unlike daytime, there wasn't the flexibility to bring in other stories and characters and maybe let the likes JR go backburner. That same mentality also invaded daytime with characters like  Sonny and Victor still peddling the same stuff after decades. I guess the same could be said for MSW eg every week Jessica encounters a crime and solves it,but I think viewers come to that format with a different mindset.
    • Daphnee and Trisha did a live stream on Instagram and confirmed they find out if the show gets picked up in May. This pretty much confirms they're on the primetime schedule like the Bell soaps. Fingers crossed we get a multi-year renewal announcement soon!  https://www.instagram.com/reel/DJSsYb7PDv8/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
    • I don't think Lois the character was there.  The Lois we knew from the 90s has pretty much died with this  Gio story crap.
    • Have to agree re MM. The goody two shoes character and writing doesn't help but maybe a more dynamic actor would help Brandon lift his game also. I found the song sequence a little OTT. First of all it should have been shorter and maybe the song fades out and just some music to accompany the montage. I think it would have worked better if Anita had have been alone after everyone left and started tinkling leading into the song, with Vernon coming in observing and then joining her for  a close moment. Everyone standing around felt a little too much. And that closing effect with the two blackscreens meeting was unnecessary. Just a fade out would have been enough.

    • And sadly I think that’s the trivia Both Jeanne Cooper and Eric Braeden went with for years and years. Lol
