I'm a proponent of democratic fanservice, so I wish somehow, someone would have had a sexy/silly hallucination of either Johnny or Rafe (or either could have seen himself reflected in something). A minor point, but one I like making.

Talia seems to have synthesized a drug that makes women horny and men hallucinate.  I hope she gives Rolf a run for his money in the laboratory sciences.

This makes me wonder, have we ever seen Kayla in a lab?  Was there ever a story where she had to concoct some kind of antidote?  Because if Talia is making LSD in a one-bedroom apartment, maybe Bo should've kidnapped her.

Lastly, is it possible that the Beyond Salem crew is similar to us because they also don't seem to know what the Dimera and Kirakis family businesses produce?   Rolf worked for Dimera in creating the youth serum, but now Bo wants to steal it for Kirakis, but do Maggie and Xander even know that their company manufactures pharmaceuticals?  I think there's some irony, given the number of prescription drug ads on daytime, that they're even playing with this idea.

With the risk of sounding insensitive (and I don't mean to), was it that out of Ron's control?  I don't think Ron was prepared for JA to pass away mid story, but this wasn't a Victor tribute arc.  This is Bo's return.  I wonder if Ron went so heavy on Victor in this story to cover his own butt.  If the story goes over well Ron gets praise for using an ailing vet.  If it goes over poorly it was out of his control-John was sick and unable to work.  Perhaps I am being overly cynical, but JA's health has been declining for years.   Was Ron expecting him to film a large part of this story?  If Ron had added Victor's influence into this after JA passed it would be one thing, but it seems he had the full intention of using Victor in scenes.   It almost seems like Ron wanted an excuse for this Bo story in case it failed.  Again, I don't want to come off as a jerk and I don't think Ron wished ill will on anyone, but I am curious as to how he really thought this was going to be executed.  All of the players in Bo's parentage have passed away in real life.  There was no way to make the return of a character that's been around for 40 years about anything else?

I took it to mean that he was referring to people who feel that Shawn/BB isn’t being used well enough in Bo and Hope’s story, but you have a valid point. 

And I do agree with you saying that Ron likes to have an excuse. When there isn’t one, he just seems to ignore people’s complaints.

We don’t need Marlena becoming Alex’s biggest cheerleader, like she was for the serial killer. 

It was nice seeing Kristen and Megan interact. I’m curious as to what direction they’re going to be taken in, even I thought I want Megan to totally dominate lol btw was Kristen wearing a wig today? 

I’m still enjoying the Greece adventure, but I’m really wondering where all this anti-Kiriakis sentiment is coming from. I know Bo isn’t really like that, but with the way Kayla and everybody is speaking about them, you’d think it was 1986 again.

I started watching but will finish it later. Too bad ED isn't playing Kristen opposite Megan. I just can't stand Stacy in the role. She gets on my nerves rather quickly with her awful acting.

Got it.  I didn't read the whole twitter thread, so that makes more sense as far as Shawn, but I don't know what the excuse is not to use Shawn the other 250 episodes a year.  I took it in the context of the single tweet and felt like Ron was saying this story had other beats, but JA was too ill to complete them so things overall had to be cut.   That being said, I would be interested in seeing the script lol.

I haven't watched the episode yet, but Ben/RSW's fans seemed to love the Marlena/Ben relationship.  I think Ron is trying to recreate that with Alex because he thinks that's a popular draw.  As a Marlena stan I would like to say that's my least favorite thing about her.  Well, next to her ugly suits.  That might be my least favorite thing about her lol.

) so I’ve never seen why he doesn’t have any use for him. I do agree that he needs to be used more in this storyline though. I would rather he had gone to Greece with Stephanie than Chad. 

They also should have built up a Shawn/Jada friendship, relationship, etc. Have them turn to each other in the wake of everything that happened with EJ/Belle and Eric/Nicole. And then by throwing Sloan/EJ/Rafe and Eric and Jada’s baby into it, not only do you have a good mess, but good family drama as well, which would have been a lot better then Belle’s crazy, random hatred for Sloan

Clearly the lack of writing talent also extends to a lack of intelligence

      I'm anticipating most of the cast at the Nice location for a few weeks a la the Tuscan villa for Victoria and Ashland's wedding. I don't know why they bother. I'd rather see the money going into more regular home/office sets. This party has been a bust. No secrets revealed, break ups  etc. Ugly decorations and I'm going to slam the costuming again. Just the guests heaping praise on  Nikki  like she's achieved some magnificent milestone rather than just getting a year older.

      Now coming into June...well...   I knew it was coming but I didn't like the start to the next round of Dani/Bill/Hayley. As the 3 A plots from the start of the show (The SilkPress storyline and Martin's Secret being the other two), it needed to be benched for a while to develop those characters and allow other characters and storylines to grow. 3 months in, Hayley is the weak link, Dani is still divisive, but not boring, and Bill has been making his mark with some plots faster than others. So last week seeing the story starting to loop back around to them with Hayley's potential pregnancy, I honestly had mixed feelings.   I get it. The SilkPress storyline is currently in aftermath/next turn mode, so it has to be moved into a C plot position. Moreso if we want to keep the very talented Miss Trish around. And I love how clever the writers are being with the storyline. They give us enough in the episodes and are still playing out beats to keep the appetite fed. I don't feel like anyone is being dumbed down to keep her around. And Trish is giving nuances in her alone scenes with NuTed. I shouldn't care for a clear psycho, but she be selling it. That said...I wish they had given us a little more of the Martin's Secret storyline in the last week of the month though I loved the game of cat and mouse Bill did on Martin and Smitty to keep the storyline alive and active after it had a nice build beginning of May and vanished for a week mid-May. And it appears like it's about to go back to the backburner as an A plot which of course leaves the A plot of Dani/Bill/Hayley.   I am probably in the minority as someone who is not anti-Dani here and even she annoyed the heck out of me last week. In character true, but I just felt like there was a way to get all of that across without it feeling like...as I've said before...one step forward, two steps back...and have it feel organic. I liked Hayley got a little bit of edge with her, but she still ain't no match for Dani. And it reminds to be seen if we should be going back to that well of a story yet.   Now about today's show...   And I thought Tracy was bad! lol. But YES. Sharon has been worth the wait. And so has Anita's story! Finally having TT in the limelight. This has been a nice slow burn for me and a nice B plot. And the actress is good. The wig is giving. And her holding what Anita's secret is over her head and threatening to tell Vernon....Ooooo...that is what I was waiting for.    And speaking of bad...I thought Eva vs Kat was a great rivalry. But I am loving the rivalry that is growing with 'Nancy Drew' and Silk Press Sheila! They both get good licks in and are so cunning with each other. And I definitely have liked that since the anniversary party, that it has been growing. Now that Kat has been proven right, she has not backed down. And neither has SilkPress. And we got a 'Ms. B@tch' moment, too? LOVE. Eva coming up with a trump card was delicious and so 90s Sami Brady. GOOD. And the coda with Jacob and the expert...YES. The Silk Press storyline has been the best paced on the show so I love that the aftermath of the anniversary party continues to be so...barring one flaw...well for me. Not enough Nicole's POV.   And I like the C plots on display. And by that, I mean Chelsea with Vernon. And it made me wonder what the writers have plan for her love life now that the throuple is over with. I was watching her and going awww.   And of course the mystery man around Martin. I am starting to wonder if he really even works at the country club given how he made a run for it. That would be a twist.    Speaking of Martin...good to see him in scenes with his father and mother.    I'm getting used to NuTed.    I felt the last episode of May was a bit of a letdown, but this was a very nice recovery.

      Unless they cut him, I'd think he would stay. Surely, he didn't choose to return because he expected high quality. I figure he gets to work when he wants and spend a lot of time doing his own thing and being with his family.

      The writing for Liz and Lucky is indeed terrible, but if JJ signed a one-year contract he may be gone in a couple of months anyway. Perhaps they’re just cutting their losses.

      That would be his older sister Stacey. She was the center of a big story back in the day. Nola was out to snag medical student Kelly Nelson, who she thought would provide her with the life she craved. He was in love with a girl named Morgan. Nola plotted to get pregnant by him, but couldn't manage to get him in bed. So she seduced Floyd, who thought she was in love with him. When she knew she was pregnant, she got Kelly drunk and made sure he woke up next to her in bed. Kelly believed her when she told him he made her pregnant. They were about to elope to Las Vegas, but her mother ratted her out and Kelly abandoned her. She almost married Floyd, but jilted him at the altar. She went to work for Quint. When the baby came prematurely, Kelly saved both of them. She named the baby Kelly Louise to irk Morgan, who was now married to Kelly. When she fell in love with Quint, she had a change of heart over all the trouble she had caused, so she changed the baby's name to Anastasia Louise, shortened to Stacey. Quint was a devoted stepfather and Henry treated her like his own granddaughter.  After Quint and Nola leave SF, I believe Stacey is never seen again. Which is odd, you would think they would have brought her back with Nola and J, but they never did.
