I had to laugh a little when Alex said he had a face people liked to punch

  So true.

I freakin hate Xander and Maggie together.  I know it's supposed to be a nice friendship, but Maggie likes him better than her own daughter for no real reason.

Tripp was cute lol.

What uber driver would drive a 7 year old to a prison and what guard would not contact her non-incarcerated parent before allowing this visit?  That is actually ridiculous.  That's also an exceptionally complicated plot for a child to pull off even a demon seed like Rachel.

I don't care about Leo's gossip column so I don't want to give it much thought, but would the medium to large size city of Salem's residents care about this group of 20 people's petty problems?  Are they important?  Is Chloe Lane like a well know figure in society?

Loved the reunion between Marlena and her kids, though Belle’s crazy hatred of Sloan always seemed a little over the top and today was no different.

As for Bo’s plan, I’m not gonna rave about it but I don’t mind it. And it was nice to see a new set. Though I’m now curious as to who was the first writer that changed Victor’s origins. When Victor first debuted, it was said that he grew up in Salem, poor on the riverfront with Shawn and Caroline. And that his love for Caroline was one of the things that motivated him to become rich and powerful

The hell was Bo talking about?  Lol.  This is a stupid plan and very unnecessary.  I am sure others have asked this, but when was this filmed? After Beyond Salem 2 or more recently?  Did the show think they'd be able to use John Aniston?

I liked the Jarlena scenes of course.  I guess they'll tell Brady later.  Burn.

I laughed when Megan called Hope "Frowny Face"

Good episode.  I do think the Hope/Harris stuff is a little dull though.  Nice to see Andrew.

I liked the fact we are legitimately supposed to think Bo killed Kate.  I keep waiting for her to pop back up.  Is she just stuck on the island now?

Here's my prediction

My highlight of the week is Kayla!  I love how they wrote her as smart, sassy, and funny.  She's been such a drag in recent years.  But, this Kayla's got a spark in her that I adore.

Have they played with the architecture of Marlena's home again?  Was there always a room behind the fireplace?  And IRL who would build a hallway behind a fireplace?  Shouldn't it be on an exterior wall?

Also, good to know the ISA lets you keep your costume jewelry and high heels when they lock you up, they're so kind.

It was filmed 6 months ago. John Aniston had already passed away.

Thanks for letting me know Andrew was on. I thought of not watching since I got the date wrong for his spoiler.

    • I’m hoping to start getting to know Vernon better this month. He’s really only been a bunch of noble and good tropes so far. I don’t want him to be taken down the way Ted has been, but it seems he was a long-running Senator and no matter what party you are, lasting longer than twenty years means you’re looking out for you (and not who you’re supposed to be looking out for) most of all. I want to get to know both Vernon and Anita beyond their Dupree posturing. Clifton Davis can sleepwalk handling the kind of material Christopher Bernau and David Lewis handled and I’d like to see more than just a saint.
    • I thought Emily/Hal was a really interesting pairing. And I think KMH played that version of Emily very well! It might not have been what people wanted from Emily, and the writing got pretty gross at the end, but I thought she embodied that character effectively.
    • Don't know if this exactly fits here, but it is connected: Does this abandoned building look familiar? It is one of those explorer videos - and the outside may look VERY familiar if one watched GH in the '70s and '80s!

    • So, I have been in the hospital all week. I am close to being up to date on my soaps. Now I have to go to the Infusion Ctr daily to get IV antibiotics, for 6 weeks. I am frankly exhausted. A hospital is no place to be when you're sick. Hooked up to machines that go beep beep beep all day & night long. Someone wakes you up every hour on the hour for something, either to stick you with needles or to take your gosh-awful blood pressure for the umpteenth time. So, you don't get any sleep. Now I have a central line, upper right chest. After they "installed" it, I said, I am now Borg. They just stared at me. Apparently scifi is not general knowledge. What happened? I have an infection inside my big toe right foot & it burned the skin on my foot. The burned skin is already better. It was like a bad sunburn. The infection inside the toe is the issue. Oral antibiotics won't even get its attention. So, IV antibiotics plus time.

As Salem bids farewell to John Black on Monday, the "Days" family and fans say a final goodbye to Drake Hogestyn.   From his time as a young man playing baseball in the minor leagues for the New York Yankees to his almost four-decade run as John Black, Drake always did his best. And, while becoming a soap opera icon, he spent almost 40 years at "Days" telling the best stories and taking the younger cast under his wing to make sure they would do their best as well. Thank you, Drake, for the legacy you have left for everyone at "Days." The impact you made on the cast, crew and fans will never be forgotten...and that's a fact.
    • I found an interview with Joseph Breen (Will Jeffries) where he mentions that Reva was put in a coma so Zimmer could go to Hollywood to do a pilot (OMG, if ONLY it had been picked up, LOL) and that Sonni and Josh and Will became a popular with the audience while she was out of commission.  If you want to read the whole thing: https://www.authorsden.com/visit/viewarticle.asp?id=47394 Breen was known for being very candid in interviews, I wish I could find more of them. I seem to recall he made a couple of snarky comments about Zimmer, implying she was not above acting like a diva. Sounded to me like he had a lot of respect for Forbes (who went on to have a very strong and varied career after GL).
    • I was so confused why Devon was prying into Nicks love life and then it clicked and I remembered they’re brother-in-laws. Shows how little I pay attention to this show anymore. I was like uh? Do these two even know each other this well?
    • The Bell soaps, B&B and Y&R: cannot watch. If I went by the last time I did I would have to give them both D- but I really don't think it counts when you're not a daily watcher.  DAYS: B+ (Now this is with the knowledge that for years I have given this show a D- because I've been a fan for too long to give it the F it deserved.) GH: A+ (With Korte driving this bus to me the show is so much better! IMO we just had the best NB in so many years I cannot count!) BTG: A solid (Things I love, a few I do not, nothing I hate, still find it in general remarkable.) As always, thanks for doing this thread. I count it. I always look for it & I always post.
    • Okay, I continue to maintain that what is so good about this particular reveal followed by umbrella storyline is that you can see & understand many different points of view where there is not one bad guy or one 100% right person.  About your stated opinion, that Lois & Gloria did the right thing, you know that this was technically an illegal adoption? For it to have been legal the father, if known, would have to have been informed & have signed off on terminating his own paternal rights. And, of course, it is clear how many people they lied to.  Personally I feel like Lois is going to take the biggest "public" blame with Lulu a close second in the blame category. I am looking forward to a tongue lashing I hope Brook Lynn gives to Gloria. I continue to be more than annoyed with Dante. First his attitude toward Gio with regards to Rocco & a drinking game & its results. Second his attitude toward Lulu. Meanwhile enjoying the show every day!
    • Lois and Gloria did the right thing I feel knowing it was Camila that raised Gio has BL feeling some jealousy No one is saying that Camila was a bad mother to Gio I believe it will be Gio saying that Camila was great to him, thanking Lois and Gloria to get BL to see truth
