I honestly think John Black took his priesthood and vows more seriously than Eric did.  Not that I think Eric was like that while he was a Priest, but his lack of concern over being fired (again) from the Church is so strange.  Eric was sad, but it felt like he was more sad over the lack of employment than being thrown out of the Priesthood.  You would think he would have a huge moral dilemma over that and speak more to the loss of that calling instead of starting to hook up with random women.  It was never a good occupation for Eric and I am not sure why RC went back to it other than the Possession.

I think the issue is that the writers just have never had any real idea what they wanted to do with Eric - JER might've had an early idea about what to do with him (I remember him stating that he wanted to position him on the canvas for a bit before moving into proper storylines a la how Mike took a while to take off as a character again). But when JER left, so did any plans and Eric has just been floundering around since.

Leo talking about being mean spirited kinda seems like a metaphor for Days as a whole, this year

And the chemistry is there between Chad and Stephanie. That storyline really is taking the right direction, IMO.

Not sure if you've seen it or even know about it. Your guy was interviewed. It was a really good interview. He talks about many things/issues. He discusses his recent return to Days and about his character Charlie.

I had forgotten he was on the RW which can be seen on paramount plus.

Having very low expectations and just laughing at the storylines makes me enjoy this soap better.

Stacy Haiduk is just horrible playing the other characters besides Kristen.

The only story that is compelling right now is Eric and Nicole and I've never been a fan of hers.

Everything else is ridiculous with a lot of bad acting.

Leo holding Sonny hand in yesterday's episode was ridiculous and no way would Sonny allow it.

Why am I not surprised?

I asked Alan to get Chandler. He's trying to get him. The interview won't be as great because Alan will lead the interview. Chandler is more reserved than Mike Manning. Mike took control of the interview and that's why it was so good.

Crossing fingers he gets Chandler. It shouldn't be too hard to reach him.

I don't want to see Charlie the rapist *character* on my Days screen.  Not at all.
I loathe this character in every way.

If Mike Manning is in other projects such as The Bay, I'm fine with that.  It's good when actors get work.

The Leo and Sonny crap is beyond stupid.   I think Stacy Haiduk was good as Susan, probably better than as Kristen.  The writers have just written both characters different than when Eileen Davidson played them.

Agreed!

    • Yes, they did a 'premiere' of Maggie's death episodes at the ArcLight theatre in Los Angeles, arguably then the nicest movie theatre chain in the USA. Plus, Suzanne and Deidre were in a ton of scenes together during this time. Whatever happened between them happened after 2004.
    • There are episodes with Jenny (Mary Ellen Stuart) that she was in pre-writers strike.. and I know that she lasts until at least August 1988. It's a shame that the show didn't try pairing her with Rusty since the two had more chemistry than she had with Ross and that he had with Rose.
    • Was that when she put on the"Slut of Springfield" red dress and made a complete ass of herself at the CC, so of course Alan fell madly in love with her on the spot?
    • Oohh...now I'm not sure. Long did come back in '87, didn't she. She broke up Ross and Vanessa almost from her first minute back. Van and Ross are at the Country Club when Josh dumps Reva. And Reva dramatically drapes herself on the CC stairs.
    • Glad you enjoyed watching. Yes, Michael seems like fun. I am always interested in more of these niche talk show appearances.
    • Thanks for the tag @DRW50
    • Upon reflection, I think you're right, their chilliness toward each other was more recent. She said women on the show in 1984 were not supportive and she still stays away from them. She seems friendly with Susan Hayes so Deidre is the only woman still around from those days, though I guess Kristian Alfonso and Leann Hunley could also qualify. And it might be someone long gone but who is still present in Suzanne's social circles.
    • I don't know.  The animosity seems to be more recent than the mid 80s.  When Maggie was a victim of the Salem Stalker i remember reading an interview with Suzanne where she said they aired the episode(s) surrounding Maggie death in a theatre and made a big deal about it.  Suzanne was very upset about being fired and Dee comforted her and said that they were making such a big deal about it because it was Suzanne/Maggie.  I cannot find the article but I will keep trying. That said Suzanne's comments on Soapy about how some of the female cast members treated her during her illness was disappointing to hear to say the least.
    • Anyway... Kristen should have a prison lesbian story arc. And then come out and become obsessed with Marlena so we can move her on from the Brady nonsense. Is that secret room still in the DiMera mansion?
    • Oh, wow... where can I find this interview?
