Seriously, why must Corday insist on keeping drippy, dreary MR when CM has proven herself as Jennifer?  (Have I mentioned that Cady won the Emmy for playing Jennifer...and Melissa didn't?)

I think it's just historical loyalty, which I can understand to a point. Missy was a lifer and put in a lot of great years. And I'm sure Missy still has many fans in the audience, casual and otherwise, who likely don't know of her stances or behavior. But if it was me, I'd have made a clean break. And tbh glancing at her IG I don't think Missy is really interested in acting or glossing herself up as Jennifer anymore; she seems much more focused on being a grandmother and being with her family. In that position I can say more power to her, even if I find her politics repugnant. But yes, I'd let her go be with her family and make Cady full-time.
