It’d be such an easy thing to show to make this Devon story make sense.

I seriously hope Lily and Billy don’t have company sit on their couch. All they do is have couch sex.

Can Adam just confess he really wants Chloe already? I'd rather them as a pair rather than the back and forth between Adam/Sally and Adam/Chelsea. At least it would up the drama as both women realize they can't have him and he wanted someone else. Someone they confided in, for the most part. It would at least be dramatic and not ridiculous. Plus it would finally give Elizabeth Hendrickson something to do. She has done absolutely nothing on this show since the days of Chloe and Billy (Billy Miller) -- to be clear this wasn't a knock on EH. It's a knock on the writers.

Anything to break up the repetitive scenes of Adam literally every single day telling Sally and Chelsea he’s not interested in either of them. Both ladies look pathetic. It’s not even a triangle.

It's kind of like what I just said in the LOVING/THE CITY thread: the writing on Y&R these days is serviceable.  Meaning, of course, it does the job...and nothing else.  It just doesn't have any "life," and that's because (IMO) so many characters have long played out or been written into corners they can't be written out of.  So, you know, even if a serial killer storyline meant the end of characters such as Jill, Traci, Lauren, etc....?  It'd suck to see them die, and see them die in such grisly fashion, but if it means jump-starting this show, then it's gotta be done.  Period.

If the serial killer's motive in bumping off various GC citizens because he feels that they have not been punished properly for their crimes, he could legitimately kill several cast members...

Let's see

Chloe shot Adam and is walking free.

Chelsea poisoned Rey and tried to frame Adam...walking free.

Adam switched his father's medication...walking free.

Nick impersonated his sister's ex and terrorized several women...walking free

And many more going back years.

Should kill Nikki too, of course. And at least make a serious attempt on Victor.

For someone who can cry on cue and produce somewhat credible emotions facially, Melissa Ordway is SO monotone and robotic in her delivery. Zero inflection or emotion in her voice.

Agreed.  And they're BOTH fairly charismatic, animated performers who either don't receive very good direction, or else they just ignore it and yawn their way through their scenes.  I saw them in a little interview, and they were both 10 times livelier than they are on the show.

Melissa Ordway's just waiting for the Hallmark Channel (or GAC Family) to give her a jingle.

This Devon/Abby stuff needs to end. It's so boring. Does anyone really care which one the baby ends up with?

So Lily who was the head of a smaller division of Chancellor becomes CEO of the whole corporation and they keep her in the same office? Wouldn't the head of a smaller division have an office out of the way somewhere? Now everyone is expected to go find her? LOL

Is the Coffee House really struggling for income so badly that Sharon has to get orders for everyone? Hasn't Sharon accumulated some money from her failed marriages? She can't pay someone else so she can gossip with everyone that comes?

    • GET THAT HEFFA, NOSY NURSE!!!   I'm sorry to see Smitty and June coming to a middle ground. It seem like that tension would be between them for at least one more story arc. A writing change?   I'm sorry but I love the teen unit of Ty, Samantha, and Jessica (and Rocco, Danny, Charlotte over on GH which is what today is reminding me of). I'm a sucker for soap teens. lol.
    • I really hope Laura doesn’t get reelected. She doesn’t deserve it. Imagine her campaign staff, freaking out at the Metro Court as election results come in while she’s hanging out with Sonny.
    • Thanks for that. It was great to see her in an interview. She's very likable. Although it was somewhat confusing. What new soap is she talking about going on audition for in 1973. Was it The Young and the Restless? Is it just me or did they never even say the name of this soap opera? Days wasn't new in 1973 and there was no "Jack" with three daughters on The Young and the Restless. What soap are they talking about? The editing around that part was weird and choppy. I felt like there was a chunk missing or something. And I'm not sure why she was saying she got colorectal cancer from HPV and said it's because she never got the HPV vaccine but then said she's never had anal sex. I'm not a doctor but that didn't seem to make any medical sense. I don't know. Maybe I'm tired. It just seemed like some of this interview didn't make sense.
    • If it helps any, the last script cover from the Elman papers that I have is from episode #3,736 airdate November 15, 1977. Writers are the Hollands with Frank Salisbury.
    • B&B really does look incredible. The lighting and the polished sets have made a significant difference how visually appealing the show is now.
    • I found the problem with the Labine era was that the show lost some humour when the Labines came on and it could be dull. They also didn't seem to understand some of the characters. As others have said, it looks fantastic in comparison to the next regime but I just remember boredom being the primary response.
    • Something I didn't realize: Frank Ashmore, who played Monica's investigator Corrigan in 1981, was also Victor, the third guy in the cockpit, in Airplane!
    • Thanks, maybe I will skim through those episodes.  I have previously binged late 1985 through early 1987; April-June, August 1992 (I skipped Carlo Hesser murder trial), Jan-March 1995 and I began watching in 2006. I just struggle to stay consistent with routines especially binging routines haha
    • I could've sworn we went over the Bobbie thing a while ago, and saw her introduced to Rick and Lesley as "Nurse Barbara" in very late '77? Or was that early '78? I know the clip is online. Jackie always credited Marland with creating her IIRC.
    • Thanks.  Loon Lake - very on the nose. With that "dad" outfit Bo looks even more like Cassie's father...
