Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Discussion Thread

I mean...some of my favorite episodes of the show were Noxon. And while I loved Season 6's darkness, that was when I was watching it live/VHS-recorded as an author who loves horror/fantasy. I don't think (outside of reactions) I have sat down to watch it since, but I almost always had to defend that season from what I remember because I loved the darkness and them dealing with being adults.

I only saw Season 7 once (since it was a bday dvd gift from my then-Russian boyfriend who know of my love of BUFFY and literally bought it while I was around without me even finding out) and I remember liking it then, BUT agree that it was a little too many elements. So much so that some plot threads got lost. In hindsight...I feel the season started well enough, but that middle was a mess and the last minute attempt to add Nathan Fillion as a henchman took away from some of the First's power which lied in manipulation over total brute force. That's what made AMENDS, the X-mas episode that introduced it, sure a fascinating episode. At least for me. How does one truly defeat ancient evil?

I just did not care about Kennedy or most of the new Slayers and thought throwing them all into the mix on top of the core cast cluttered things up too much. Then they added Faith, DB Woodside's principal, Nathan Fillion as a last minute henchman, etc. There were just too many people and not enough space. You could have some of those characters but not all.

ICAM!

I haven't watched much of BTVS (or "Angel") in a very long time either, but that's due to personal reasons I'd rather not get into on this board.

Take with a grain of salt (but many of his leaks and sources have proven to be accurate in the past), but John Rocha is blaming SMG and saying she was problematic during the development and accusing her and her people of trying to smear Chole Zhao.

I don't buy this one iota.

That doesn't even make any sense. SMG has been fiercely and vocally supportive of Zhao from beginning to end on this project. This guy is not credible and neither is Robert Meyer Burnett.
