Let's go back 10 years prior to 1980. Imagine what the topics would've been then. Maybe it's me, but it seems like every show besides the ABC big three was a mess in the early 1980s. We know NBC on the whole was a giant mess in the early 1980s. CBS Daytime was shaken up by the huge rise of the ABC big three, thus the numerous scheduling changes in the early 1980s.

From what little I've seen of early 1980s Y&R I thought EB sounded fine. For whatever reason Bill Bell didn't have EB use an American accent instead of his natural German accent.
