Members DramatistDreamer
Learning the lyrics to a few of the songs that she sang has helped my Brazilian Portuguese a lot, as well as being just a pleasure to listen to. R.I.P. Astrud Gilberto.

Members DRW50
He dominated discourse for so many years. Family of mine watched his show. Sometimes I did too. So many like him dominate our country now, or people who are even worse, it's difficult to feel any sense of relief. Members DRW50
Seeing so many on Twitter idolize him and mourn him (and they aren't being ironic) just reminds me of what a hellhole that place has become.

Members DramatistDreamer
Here’s the link to her obituary in the New York Times. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/06/11/movies/jessie-maple-dead.html Years ago, WNET/Channel 13 in NYC had a documentary on the origins of PBS and it included the training program of television technicians and camera operators, of which Ms. Maple was part of that inaugural class. It’s a shame that PBS didn’t air her work on their channel the way they did for other filmmakers. She was one of those filmmakers that were mentioned as pioneers, with her photo displayed yet her work wasn’t as widely shown.
Members Bright Eyes
Never actually watched any of his work, but I always knew him as the Dad from Everwood. He seemed like a nice guy. A horrifying way to go. Rest in Peace. Edited June 13, 2023 by Bright Eyes
