B&B to air classic episodes

Now that CBS is going to air actual classic episodes it's time for a thread.

I guess May 4 is not a Stephanie Forrester week, but a best weddings week:

Then, as THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL comes down the aisle, storylines will include:

On Monday, May 4, Taylor Hayes (Hunter Tylo) desperately attempts to escape from Prince Omar (Kabir Bedi) to let Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) know that she’s alive, while Ridge and Brooke (Lang) have their epic first wedding in front of friends… and foes on the beautiful beach in Point Dume, Calif. The episode originally aired Sept. 30, 1994.

On Tuesday, May 5, Steffy (Wood) and Liam (Clifton) are wed in front of the iconic Opera House on the glorious Sydney, Australia harbor. While the ceremony progresses in front of family and friends, Wyatt (Darin Brooks) eases his sorrows over his brother’s marriage to his ex-wife with several drinks. The episode originally aired March 22, 2017.

On Wednesday, May 6, Katie (Tom), the only woman to have ever stolen Dollar Bill's (Diamont) heart, walks down the aisle to become Mrs. William Spencer, Jr., with her sisters at her side, at the San Fernando Valley home where she was raised. Legendary CBS star Patrick Duffy (“Dallas”) guest stars as Katie’s father, Stephen Logan. The episode originally aired Nov. 13, 2009.

On Thursday, May 7, Eric Forrester (McCook) and Brooke Logan (Lang) say “I Do” as Eric’s ex-wife, Stephanie (Susan Flannery), and Brooke’s true love, Ridge (Kaye), watch without objection. Eric then takes Brooke on a romantic and surprise honeymoon in a magnificent hot-air balloon in Palm Springs, Calif. The episode originally aired Jan. 8, 1991.

Wrapping up on Friday, May 8: Having overcome astounding obstacles, Hope (Kim Matula, in a role currently played by Annika Noelle) and Liam (Scott Clifton) joyously say “I Do” in front of family, friends, and the many residents of the beautiful city of Puglia, Italy. Frustrated and brokenhearted, Steffy (Wood) updates Eric (McCook) and Stephanie (Flannery) on the dramatic events transpiring in Puglia. The episode originally aired June 26, 2012.

I'm surprised they haven't done a Stephanie week. If it's not that I'm thinking it's either a comedy week.

As long as their idea of Comedy isn't stuff like Stephanie shooting Stephen, Donna with the bear, "Casper the Friendly Ghost"  or any of Dollar Bill's shenanigans....

The Bob Barker stuff is a frickin nightmare. Just awful.

I'm usually totally in line with B&B's campiness, but this episode should have never aired in the first place, let alone earn a repeat slot during a "classic marathon".

I just saw #710 again - from Amy Silence's uploads - and the Spectra scene with Sally, Darla and Saul were GREAT comedy. The line delivery, scene stealing and fun context. Those were the days: Darlene Conley and Schae Harrison were particularly amazing

Yes- I posted the clip under the best confrontations thread.

Thank you :) Whoa, SF was amazing in that scene. 12 years of rage brought to the surface.

If only they did a whole week of Sally episodes, she's the reason I ever invested in B&B in the first place

Hopefully FINALLY a QUEEN STEPHANIE week!? Took them long enough - let's hope!

That's what I'm looking forward to as well, a week of Queen Stephanie (preferably her best bitch slaps from 1987-1999) and a week of Sally.

With a week of Stephanie, it would be interesting to see the contrasts again in how she was written, Bill Bell's Jennifer/Katherine/Vanessa hybrid and Bradley Bell's female Victor.

Hadn’t seen it talked about yet, but Brown was so gorgeous as a tortured Sheila holding the Forresters hostage in today’s 1995 episode that aired. Unlike Y&R last week so nice to see something from Sheila’s glory days not to mention it was a change for direction for Sheila away from the Forresters.

Interesting to see Sally and Gladys mingle for the first time apparently.

Glad you enjoyed the episode. From my recollection a must-see TV period of B&B but it took a major nose-dive as soon as Sheila was MIA. I think it was until 2-3 months that we saw Sheila again in the spychiatric ward with Kin Shriner and Elleen Wheeler.

What Maggie/Dylan/Jessica and Michael didn’t set the show on fire that summer? Just kidding!! I recall being interested in Ivana’s murder mystery but then we had that unfortunate scene of Anthony shooting Sally on her way to canasta night. Now Lisa from Saved by the Bell’s elevator plunge was kind of funny though.

I REALLY liked the Ivana murder and had a soft spot for Maggie/Dylan. But in all fairness: the Jessica character was even dated in 1995... she was Y&R's Cricket in 1983 all over again. And the show had lots of interesting characters and overall good storytelling, but no real highlights after the classic Sheila showdown that CBS reaired this week. At least that's how I recall it 20+ years later.

B&B started to tank around summer 1995. Then in the fall Sheila returned and Lauren moved over from Y&R to B&B, but by 1996 they weren't in each other's orbit as much.

I thought it was brilliant to steer Sheila towards Brooke + later Grant and Lauren towards Ridge. It gave the characters lots of energy

Yeah. I thought the show pretty obviously nose dived in 1995 and 1996. Just bad. The one bright spot was probably Charles Grant.

Just watched the Stephanie/Brooke confrontation episode. You could really feel 12 years of Stephanie's pent up rage being unleashed. No wonder Susan Flannery won the Lead Actress Emmy in 2000.

Hard to believe this was Bradley Bell's work and not Bill Bell's. Bradley also took elements of his father's work. Rick/Amber/Kimberly was Bradley's version of Phillip/Nina/Cricket.

I was honestly watching and thinking the episode did not hold up well at all. A little camp goes a long way.

B&B has never been a show to really dig deep into its characters or their relationships but they could have done a little more than have Stephanie's every other word be tramp, whore, and ho and "you destroyed my family" over and over. We get it.

And as far as being surprised this was Brad. He had a co-HW at the time but even saying that there was a NOTICEABLE difference and considerable drop in the quality of the dialogue between the argument between Sally and Stephanie earlier in the week and what aired today.
