If he refused to wear a mask, then he deserved what he got. He knew all the facts and risks. I just feel sorry for his family who contracted the virus as well.

It's ridiculous! I would continue wearing a mask just to reduce the risks of regular cold and flu season. It's foolish that we didn't adopt this practice sooner.

There still needs to be an effective and safe prophylactic but if this helps more people survive this scourge then it's obviously good and necessary right now.

^ Of course there isn't a second wave. We still have 700 people a day dying from the first wave we are still in! I certainly expect a second wave though. Pence is just willfully ignorant.

I agree. I haven't been personally wearing one because I don't need to... but people who need to certainly should! Every time!

This is what I've been saying. Only a little more than a handful of states can even claim to be anywhere near anything resembling "flattening the curve". The rest are rising in COVID-19 cases.  You can't have a 2nd wave, if you're still in the 1st wave.

I think we're going to stay in the "first" wave all through the summer. This country simply refuses to do what it needs to in order to address this. By now we should have a national testing program and the DPA should've been used to manufacture PPE for the last few months. Instead what happened is that Republicans just decided to play pretend and hope that the mass death only hit the people they don't like. This is shameful and criminal.

So many people, goaded by selfish and callous types all over social media and in the GOP, never wanted to sacrifice. They instead just waited until they would have a reason to say "gotcha!" and "hypocrite!" (the usual far right excuse to never do anything to help anyone), even falsely claiming that the BLM protests are why many stopped social distancing or wearing masks even though that had mostly stopped weeks earlier.

They do nothing, they want other people to do nothing, then they attack those people when bad things happen because of doing nothing.

Look at the scumbag governor of Texas, who is berating young Texans for the spike in cases while also making it harder for masks to be worn in public.
