The Secret Storm... The Storm Within

The Doctors... House of Hope

Supposedly, the reason why TSS changed its title from "The Storm Within" was because an antacid company signed on as a sponsor. That story still makes me laugh (I read it in Gerry Waggett's Soap Encyclopedia).

As for "House of Hope", I thought that was the title of the proposed TD spinoff that NBC was supposed to launch in 1970. (Instead, NBC chose another spinoff - AW's "Somerset".) I might be confusing it with something else.

A Billboard article from 1951 mentions 'The Susan Peters Story' for the show that aired as 'Miss Susan'.

Is true that at one point there was a third Bell soap in the works called "The Proud and the Passionate?"

I don't know about that, but that was used as a title of a soap-within-a-soap on RH in 1980-81.

Well, Maljardin literally means garden of evil / evil garden, but I do prefer Strange Paradise as a title tbh.

Wasn’t or isn’t B&B called just Beautiful in another/some countries or was meant to be a possibility for the original name?

I recall that B&B was Top Models' in France and didn't they name it 'Caroline' in Greece or was that just a nickname due to the popularity of that character?

Otherwise it would have to be renamed 'Caroline's Friends and Family' or some such when the character died.

The show was never called "Caroline" here in Greece. It was known as "Boldness and Charm". Crazy popular for years and years. We even hard Caroline and Ridge chips as a snack. Τα γαριδάκια που μας λείπουν (pics)! | Gazzetta

Thanks for clearing that up. I recall reading that somewhere. Obviously it was not Greece,

Did Ronn or Joanna (or anyone else)ever visit Greece on the strength of their popularity?

RM, Joanna Johnson, KKL and Clayton Norcross all visited and were treated as mega-stars.

Dan McVicar and KKL presented a Miss Europe beauty contest. DMV also guest-starred in a greek soap in the early 90s.

(BTW I think that Loving was called "Trisha" in South Africa.)

Τhese are photos of RM visiting Athens in 1989.
