Shelley wasn't much of a writer, she should have "retired" with Pissy.

The only glimmers of decent story started coming through when Van Etten began, but every time something semi-good starts up, ValenVarni squash it for their pets. (Chet/Maxie for one).

Julian is a trash character. Always has been, always will be. Julian, Kim and ToddFrankenDrew could all leave tomorrow and no one would bat an eye except the fools on FB that feel Franko is a hero and the most romantic character on the show.....

Now that Ass-cars Dad is gone, Momma can kick rocks, too. Kim should have been Sarah. #firefrank

I'm not praising Ron by any means, but I just remember hearing circa 2012-14ish how much "better" the show had become, and the mob being side-lined helped alot apparently...but I know Ron did a lot of not so good things too....but one of the "good" he did was making Michael realize he's a Quartermaine.....that should have still carried over today and Michael still hating Sonny too.

The show was highly watchable when Sonny and the mob was sidelined. But something switched before Ron left and Sonny became lead again, and Michael stopped hating Sonny.

It sure was. Now it's back to him and his shenanighans, snarling at Jax, . Jason's not only an enforcer, but also "consulting" with the police and Carly is hatching another junior Corinthos.

Meanwhile, the hospital is down to three doctors... recurring Monica,recurring Lucas, and Finn, who gets involved in EVERY case. Kim resigned, Obrecht fired, and Dr. Andy (dayplayer) is there to bring people to Finn. Kevin and Neil (both recurring as well) are the psychiatrists. Nursing falls to Elizabeth and Epiphany (recurring) and Bobbie (recurring). Felix, Amy and Deana are only good for the Nurses' Ball, so we get random dayplayer nurses.

So much for the "Hospital".

That is, until one of Frank's friends comes a-calling looking for an ATM visit.

Thanks. With the changes in Brad and Peter, it does seem like that might have happened

It's not really General Mobspital as much as "Pet Sematary" or "General Propspital" If it's not about ToddFrankenDrew, it's talking about ToddFrankenDrew. Brad's always been shifty. Peter went 180 awfully quick, though.

But hey, there's diversity... Just ask Dr. Terry, Chet the vet, Drag Queen Bingo, Lucas and Felix... Oh yeah, You'd have to actually see them first.

If they just got rid of ToddFrankenDrew, Julian and Kim AKA The Three Stooges, I think the show would improve so much. Out of all the pets, they're pretty much the only ones that I can't stand at all. I don't see that happening though.

Is Terry gone? The actress isn't listed on Wikipedia anymore. As for Chet, IMO he should have been paired with either Maxie or Lulu. And maybe Felix will be there for Lucas or Brad when all the secrets come out and Lucas kicks Brad to the curb.

You could dump 75-80% percent of the current cast and have a much more appealing show.

Chet/Lulu wouldn't have worked. He's too tall (hence the casting of the lyft driving teacher).

Todd, Julian and Kim. Agreed 100%. I sort of like Willow but she could have been Lucy's daughter instead, which would have given Lucy something to do, but wouldn't want that ...

But look at today, pets everywhere:

Finn (not really propped but why couldn't this be Tom Hardy?)

Willow (I actually sort of like her but zzzz)

Nina (I love Watros but Nina is a non-character, this could have been Julia Barrett)

Valentin (I like Stuart but Valentin is meh and the Sasha story is tired)

With a side dash of Laura, Curtis and Liz. I don't consider Chase a pet, but he is.

I like Sasha but she feels like she's circling the drain. I just don't care about Nina and her [!@#$%^&*] daughter.

But then tomorrow's episode, Jason, Sonny, etc. are all front and center.

The show is a hot mess.

I happened to tune in live today and wished I hadn't. I'm still slogging through the end of August ... just got past Helena's resurrection via a flashback and damn Constance Towers still has it. She's fabulous as always. I miss her on my screen. Helena was probably played out but I wish she were still around.

Meanwhile, when are they going to dump Shiloh? LORD. Make it stop. The actor is a find but just let the character go. PLEASE.

The Willow/Harmony [!@#$%^&*] would have been 100% more tolerable had she been Christina and Harmony been Julie Devlin, but then, would anyone really care but me? LOL

I thought today’s episode was ok. Maybe because I fast forwarded all the Kim and ToddFrankenDrew scenes lol And Julian taking the moral high ground with Brad today was hilarious.

I do like the Michael/Sasha/Chase/Willow quad, and this might be an unpopular opinion but I prefer Cynthia Watros over Michelle Stafford as Nina.

I don’t really have an opinion about Finn/Michael Easton.

Yeah, the stakes need to be a little higher.

I much prefer watching Watros as Nina. Just find Nina useless and pointless, lol. Even with Watros but man I'm thrilled we traded up.

Chase/Willow/Michael/Sasha has some potential I suppose.

I guess with such a big cast it often times feels all over the place and there's a lack of momentum because of it

Now that makes sense. I do feel the Ronnie story only existed because of ES. You could take that entire story out and absolutely nothing change - except for Laura asking Martin to move out. Even that rift was healed the next time they were together (debate night). I kept wondering, who really cares who gets the Q Estate, compared to all the other stories that had been sidelined just to fit that in.

So that makes me wonder - when Kate Mansi directed Tuesday's show, does that mean she only directed a few of the scenes that episode and not all? Makes me wonder how the directing/writing credits get assigned in that model.

One Life to Live Tribute Thread

I just found out (from a reddit post) that Robin Strasser returns on February 16, 1993. That soon. I can't believe my time with Elaine is ending. It's soooo disappointing to see her go after all she's done with and for the character. She WAS Dorian. Being center stage almost half of 1992 makes it hard to believe they are replacing her. The character grew so much - facing Blair and Addie/going back to her childhood/re-experiencing past trauma. I wish I could read an interview from that time to understand her feelings after leaving. If one even exists.
I've been watching the German 1980 episodes and enjoy RS's Dorian... A LOT... she does have a different energy. RS's Dorian feels more pretentious and self-absorbed (and a little bit adorable)... while EP's Dorian was darker, moodier, a bit like a broken bird... I like both. Of course a lot of these impressions are influenced by the writing for the character and not only the portrayal. I can't say which is better, but I connect more with EP's Dorian. Maybe I'll change my mind when I start watching RS in English. (I can't judge properly when it's dubbed over in German.)

The show is assembled from taped scenes out of order and the episodes recreated like a puzzle. So B and C stories, and ones not featuring pets or Frank’s personal favorites at that time, get dropped for weeks sometimes, or get shoehorned in as an afterthought. It did not used to be so obvious, and it is slightly better at times now. But it’s been a pattern for awhile now.
As has a bored Valentini interrupting the flow of stories and changing almost everything quickly, dropping months of plots/couples and often never returning to them. The fast pace they were running on when Rory arrived as the recast really covered the seams a lot too, but something changed with the Ronnie story and Britt return as far as momentum, so we are seeing more of the cracks in the way they assemble the show.

GH: November 2025 Discussion Thread

I'm noticing there are some issues with follow-through/up on this show. Like Ric being drugged/tortured by Alexis/Ava - after all that, we just sweep it under the rug and pretend it didn't happen? Same with Ned's heart attack - I guess this was just a fast plot point to move other things along, but we're not really supposed to care how he is? We haven't seen him or Olivia since he got to the hospital...
Otherwise, there are fun things I like about the show. It moves quickly, so it's not boring like others. The sets are amazing, and they have so many... probably the best I've seen in current times. Great acting generally.

For the purposes of this thread I think this is cool information to have compiled, but not quite the same as actors that fully transitioned or wrote for other characters while also still acting in the show. Although I know Rowell was instrumental in stories too, and Bill Bell had a lot of respect for her ideas.
I mean Finola/Tristan/Kimberly improvised whole scenes, rewrote dialogue, etc. Tony Geary was famous for this too. And as I said earlier, Geary and his writing partner wrote two story treatments that GH accepted and used with the writing team to develop them. The Luke & Laura returns story, and the horrible Cassadine Endgame, which Geary said had virtually zero in common with what they presented and sold to ABC. Genie Francis came up with the idea of a baby Laura left behind that Wendy Riche and Guza used later on.
Wasn’t Megan McTavish a performer on soaps before she wrote as well? And I just recalled that Pam Long wrote and acted on Texas when the show was winding down.

I’m not gonna lie today was pretty good! Gina dragging Phyllis for the filth she is and Nina and Amy (glad to see her mix it up with more people) making it clear how much they detest Cane for everything! I even got a laugh over Esther being the culprit of the mums being sent to Christine to cause her allergic reaction.

Has Patty Weaver retired from singing IRL? My heart sank a little when Gina said she was a former singer. I guess I was kind of hoping she was gonna serenade them like she did at their first wedding with “starting here, starting now”
