I'm also not big on Claire or the actress playing her, though I think the writing is a far bigger problem than the acting. I wouldn't mind a recast (and some better writing) down the road as the character certainly has a place on the canvas.

I’m sure even soaps know they need some POCs in this political climate. Not that they’ve been properly used, and they should be held accountable for that.

I was happily surprised they brought on another Asian regular in Thia Megia once Christopher Sean departed. It shows that someone cares, at least a little bit.

Yeah, I gotta give DAYS credit for representing more than just the lily white Hortons and Bradys. We also have African-Americans, Asians, and Hispanics. Plus 3 gay characters. I secretly wish they'd bring back Jonah's side of the Carver family, but I love that they brought on Eli as a black Horton.

DAYS is far ahead of the other shows in diversity. Whether they're used properly all the time is another issue, but at least they're part of the cast.

Just look at B&B, it takes place in LOS ANGELES and in the FASHION INDUSTRY. Yet, we have no Latinos and no gay characters.

The addition of Haley is great, and the show does feature gay men (if not lesbians or trans characters), but if DAYS is what diversity looks like in 2019, that’s sad. It’s just not good enough in a post-Shonda world.

I would hate for DAYS to be complacent and think showing Eli a few times a month with his shirt off is representation. They can do *much* better.

I do, too, even if I still cannot figure out how David and Valerie could have had a baby.

As far as I can tell RC's approach to Eli, etc. on DAYS is the same as his approach to "the black story" on all his other soaps: C-list airtime.
