Here is a thread for spoilers for January. Here are spoilers from soaps.com day ahead recap for tomorrow:

 

Victoria will run out of the Ashby home after the kiss. Cane will follow her to her own home. Cane will want to talk about the kiss. Victoria will say that stress led to it. Cane will say they can't tell anyone about the kiss as he could lose his marriage and family. Billy shows up and Victoria says that her and Cane were just talking about their sons involvement in the Nikki's accident. Cane and Billy will bicker. Cane will leave and Victoria will say that her and Cane must work together to protect their children. Billy will tell her about Victor being charged with JT's murder. She will end up kissing Billy after he lends her his support.

 

Fen will be bragging at Crimson Lights about how him and Lola will be a hot couple and will be seen all around GC to Kyle. Him and Kyle will argue over Lola, who will arrive and tell them she doesn't belong to either one of them. She will also tell them to leave. Kyle will end up telling Abby that he made things worse with Lola and Abby will encourage him to fight for their relationship. Abby will end up getting an alert from GC Buzz that Victor has been charged with murder.

 

Mariah will mention it on the show (they will be filming at the station) and Abby will be upset that she did this. Abby will end up going to the station and lashing out at Mariah. She will tell Mariah that she made Victor seem guilty and that Victor will make Mariah pay. Abby will also end up seeing Victor and will vow to prove that he is innocent. 

 

Cane and Charlie will talk about the accident and Charlie will express guilt for what happened to Nikki.

 

Kyle will end up asking Lola for another chance at Crimson Lights. Lola will continue to insist that Kyle doesn't "get her", because he asks if she's really upset that he bought her nice things. Lola will say that she doesn't want to be with someone who uses money to show that they care.  Kyle will say his parents and Victor showered him with gifts. Kyle will vow to respect her boundaries and change for her. They will kiss. Mariah will end up encouraging Fen to ask for a do over with Lola, after Fen expresses he wished he'd kept his mouth shut. Fen will also complain that he feels that his music is going nowhere fast. He will show up with a flower for Lola and look dejected after he sees her kissing Kyle.

If not, I think this is a problem in that viewers are expected to accept what is basically a new character (new actor/new direction) without re-establishing his ties to familiar characters. Are Michael and Lauren aware of what is going on with him? Do they have a point of view?

 

Same with Kyle and Jack. Has he interacted with Lola? Has Kyle discussed their issues with his Dad?

 

Soap 101 - use family connections and keep vets viable by tying them into their children's stories.

 

Michael/Lauren shared some scenes with him at a party. Him and Lauren sung together and she told him that she would see if she could get Michael to financially support his dreams. They are supposed to be interacting together more in upcoming scenes. 2019 Spoilers says that Michael and Lauren will struggle on watching Fen make mistakes and will try and let him learn life lessons on his own.

 

I don't know if he's making mistakes professionally or personally, but they aren't going to like some of the stuff he's doing.  I wonder if he really ends up jeapoardizing his career for Ana and they don't like that. (There is a spoiler about Fen and Ana finding their backs against the wall.) And/or he revs up his pursuit of Lola and they think he's making a mistake. Or a combination of these things and maybe other things. 

 

Jack has met Lola before and him and Kyle interacted with her and Kerry at a party. They talked about how happy they were with Lola/Kerry.

I'm amused that they've chosen to remember Lauren's musical past, but I wonder if this wouldn't be a more successful story for a recast Daniel, following his dreams to be like his father?

At least Lauren and Michael are getting some sort of exposure. I always liked their relationship and marriage. It would have been interesting if Paul had been used as a wedge between them with the history he shares with Lauren.

According to soaps.com day ahead recap on tomorrow's episode, Victoria and Nikki will try to prevent Phyllis from speaking at the memorial. Victoria will ask Nick to escort Phyllis out. Phyllis will then ask why is everyone afraid of the truth regarding JT, and Reed will ask to be told the truth about his father. Phyllis will reveal that JT physically and emotionally abused Victoria. Reed will urge Victoria to set Phyllis straight ,but Victoria will confirm the truth. Reed will be upset, trash JT's picture and storm upstairs. Victoria will address the room and tell them about what happened between her and JT and that she doesn't think they had real love. She will mention she feels safe now. Mac will also mention that she feels safe that JT is now gone.

 

Traci will marvel at how JT changed and be sorry for what Victoria Mac endured. Nikki will be upset about what Phyllis revealed and will tell Phyllis it wasn't her truth to tell. Phyllis will struggle to explain her actions to Nick, and Billy will tell Phyllis "He didn't know that she could get any worse". Cane will tell Victoria he is deeply sorry about what she went through. Reed will end up appearing and will Victoria if JT hit her, she will say he grabbed her by the throat and Reed will sob in her arms. Billy will wish Victoria had told him the truth about JT, and Victoria will be glad he's in her corner. Later at the ranch Nikki will freak out when she sees a fire poker and will tell Nick that she killed JT. 

 

Rey and Sharon will be traveling in bad weather and will have to stay overnight in a motel with one room and one bed available. They will end up having a hard time sleeping and Sharon will end up inviting him to sleep in the bed with her, because he's uncomfortable sleeping in a chair. They will turn their backs to each other and wish each other sweet dreams.

 

And Arturo and Mia will continue to cuddle, and will reminisce about old times together. His friend will arrive with the furnace and he will fix it for Mia. She will find out that Sharon is with Rey, when Arturo tries to contact Sharon regarding the furnace and Mariah tells him that Sharon is stuck somewhere overnight with car trouble. She will tell Arturo that Rey doesn't love her anymore and that she feels like an obligation to him. Arturo will praise Mia for her good qualities and they will almost kiss. But Arturo will stop it and say they shouldn't be doing that.

I think they went with Fen because both of his parents are still technically on canvas. Originally the casting call was just supposed to be someone who was going to be a waiter/aspiring singer. But I think later on they decided to make that character Fen. So far Lauren has been supportive of his dreams, whereas Michael is more reserved/not really feeling him wanting to be a singer. I am looking forward to watching him interact more with his parents. I think he's very believable as their child. He's looks a lot like/talks like Michael.

Poor Reed. He didn't need to find out about his father that way. And it absolutely isn't Phyllis' truth to tell. Just when you think she couldn't get any lower...

It looks like we will be seeing Fen spend some time in Michael and Lauren's apartment. Also, it looks like Victoria, and Nick will tape some upcoming scenes with Christine. Also according to soaps.com there are some real reporters including Nischelle Turner from Entertainment Tonight/CNN who have taped upcoming scenes about a breaking news  regarding a murder in GC. I think that is about JT's murder investigation.

Here are some upcoming spoilers from SOD:

 

Billy is going to spill a secret, Jack will catch Kerry in a lie, Arturo will surprise Abby and Nick will question Phyllis. Victoria will enjoy getting closer to Billy, but will be hesitant to reconcile with him, because of problems they have had together in the past.  Phyllis will interrupt a meal with Victoria and Billy and pretend like it's only about business but then will tell Victoria  that Billy is only trying to get close to her, because Phyllis rejected him. This will put some doubt in Victoria's mind if Billy only wants to be with her, because Phyllis initially turned down his request to get back together with her. 

 

Also Mia will test Arturo, Nick will call a truce and Devon will take a chance. Nick has a change of heart regarding something, Cane's visit with Lily will take an unexpected turn and Nikki will be facing danger. And Fen will spend time with Michael,  Neil will worry about Ana and Billy will be out for revenge.

 

It looks like both Lily and possibly Neil will be showing up again. I wonder what will cause Neil to worry about Ana. I wonder if there is more to Ana than meets the eye. And I wonder what unexpected turn that Cane's visit to Lily will take.

In the new promo for next week, Billy is going to catch Victoria making out with Cane on Victoria's couch. Kerry is also being shown holding what maybe looks like a syringe in her hand.

 

 

There are also rumors out there that someone did a walk through on set, and saw scenes where Billy goes and tells Lily in prison about Cane and Victoria kissing and it will devastate Lily. There is also a rumor out there that Billy will tell Reed about Victoria kissing Cane and Reed will leave town angry with his mother. Billy is supposed to be spilling a secret next week and maybe that is it. I also wonder what Kerry is up to. Spoilers from the 2019 SOD preview says that she has secrets, and the latest SOD spoilers says that Jack will catch her in a lie.

 

Also according to soaps.com day ahead recap for Monday's episode. Nikki will finish telling Nick the truth about killing JT. Nick will want to protect her and clear Victor's name. He will make sure that security is around Nikki. Arturo is going to accuse Mia of liking having power over him and Rey. Mia will say that she needs someone who is all in for her, and that she knows that Rey and Sharon have feelings for each other. She will say that her and Arturo have made imprints on each other's hearts. Arturo will say it's dangerous to be around her and leave. He will end up going to the Abbott mansion and telling Abby that he loves her.

 

Later on Mia will confront Rey about lying about being with Sharon. Rey will say he lied because he didn't want to upset her but that nothing happened with Sharon and he won't stop fighting for his and Mia's marriage. They kiss. Also, Billy will confront Phyllis about her actions at the memorial and she will say she feels bad about it. Billy will also end up telling Victoria he's glad she loves him and that reconnecting with her and their children is good enough for him right now. Victoria will be happy there isn't any pressure in their relationship right now. She will comfort Reed again who will ask if JT is a bad person. Victoria will say he changed and urge Reed to remember JT in his own way. Reed will say he's ready to go back to school.

 

And Nick will end up forgiving Phyllis for her actions at the memorial.

SOD

I could see her kissing Cane after the scenes at the dinner play out. I do wonder what leads Cane to go over to her house again. Also, I heard rumors/reports that Billy will end up telling Lily and Reed that Victoria is cheating with Cane. (Though I haven't seen any credible source specifically confirming that yet.) If so, that is low on Billy's end. It's one thing to tell Lily, as he cares about her, it's another thing to tell Reed, who is already reeling from learning bad stuff about his father.  

 

That will further hurt Reed, who is already upset because one of his parents turned out to be worse than what he thought. He's already devastated by learning what JT did, he's going to be even more hurt if he learns his mother is cheating with Cane. I think that if Billy tells Reed about Cane/Victoria that is unnecessary and not the best move for him to make. If their relationship progresses even further Reed will find out eventually. 

 

 

According to soaps.com day ahead recap (and other spoilers) for tomorrow's episode Devon will tell Ana that he's releasing her version of Fen's song as his single. Ana will be happy about this.  Michael and Lauren spend some time with Fen. He will play his song for them at the club and they will talk about this early taste of success for him and will let him know they are proud. Fen will be touched by their reaction. Later Michael will express his concern to Lauren that Fen's career is not a stable one.  Also, Nick will show up at prison and tell Victor that he believes he is innocent and that he will be getting together a legal team for Victor. He brings in Michael and . Nick will tell Victor he hired Michael for Nikki's sake and Victor will tell Nick he will get out of this situation and he's proud of Nick.

 

Kerry will send Jack mixed signals. She will make out with him and then present him with a new bottle of fragrance that she named after him: "Jack of Hearts". Jack will go upstairs for a moment to freshen up and when he comes down Kerry will be leaving without telling him. She will say she has to work/doesn't want to upset Dina, but Jack will convince her to stay. She will send him upstairs to wait for her and then take out the fragrance and look at it again.And someone will be watching Nikki/Victoria on a surveillance camera. Victoria will also be upset that Nikki told Nick the truth about JT.

 

And Ana will get snippy with Fen when he wants to discuss why she won't reveal she's the songwriter. She will tell him to stop talking about the issue and even ask him to leave the penthouse. She will also warn him that things may not end well for his career if he reveals she's the songwriter.

 

I looked at tomorrow's episode, and I didn't care for the way that Ana was acting towards Fen. The writers ruined Lola for me in a few episodes, I hope they don't go down a similar path with Ana. Granted, the way she was acting wasn't as bad as Lola/the purse, but IMO, it was concerning. Mal has been writing a lot of the women on this show as acting unlikeable/unbearable, don't want to see that happen with Ana. I think she may have a bigger secret regarding why she won't tell she's the songwriter. Maybe she's scared or something and there is a good reason why she won't tell the truth. I don't know. There is also that spoiler about Neil being worried about her, maybe she ends up acting in a way that concerns him.
