Bringing Cane onto the canvas as the "real" Phillip Chancellor III (and victim of alleged baby switch) was bad enough.  Undoing all that was probably worse.  Why?  Well, for starters, the plot twist/retcon rendered Cane irrelevant and forced the show to bring the REAL P3 back from the dead (and out of the closet) in a story that remains shocking in its tone-deafness.  But the unkindest cut of all...?  Even after going to all that trouble JUST to erase one of LML's biggest blunders, we're STILL stuck with that suck-nado known as Cane Ashby; and the real P3 might as well have stayed dead.

Weird how Devon forgave Neil who intentionally held Hilary hostage, including the ridiculous memory wipe.

Hopefully all we'll see of Lily's jail time are visits. Prison s/l with the standard stock of villains, the one 'unjustly' convicted mom who Lily will attempt to save after prison, the usual beating leading to the infirmity blah, blah, blah, etc. This is territory that soaps have never gotten right. It's almost always painful to watch between the cliches, horrible dialogue and bad dayplayers.

If daytime even had one soap journo and/or blogger who had half the drive of a Ronan Farrow to do 1/4 of the research on BTS chicanery that he does in entertainment and politics, so much would've been revealed already about the foolishness going on at Y&R over the last decade or so.

I'm convinced that they are mostly afraid that they'll lose contact or that the show want to give them a spoilers or blackball them.

Ashley Dionne is relatively new on the block and she's the only one who doesn't care to lick boots.  She's done great work revealing BTS stuff the last 3 months.

No, I understand what you mean.  It's just a shame that the majority of these bloggers don't realize that these soaps now need the bloggers as much as the bloggers might need them. They needn't be beholden to anyone.

It's also pretty sad that most of these soap bloggers seem intent on cherry-picking who they are critical of.

They had no problem being openly critical of the Prospect Park people, not that the producers didn't deserve the criticism-- but the critiques bordered on simmering hostility toward many aspects of those shows, even the actors (some of whom were quite new to soaps and simply needed time to adjust).

Still, I'd have no problem with them being critical, even scathing if they were judicious with their critiques but it's clear that many are only interested in access, even if they have to 'play ball'.

This is why I don't bother to read most of those soap blogs anymore.  Their content often rings hollow.
