Emma as a runway model is a lot harder sell. Nia Sioux is a perfectly cute, cuddly young woman who has amassed a huge social media following for a reason, but, yeaaaah no.

EDIT: although she’s done it before:

Yeah, I don't know what it is, but she definitely has a... unique look. I think she stole Victoria Wyndham's eyeballs. As for her mouth, I keep thinking she's chewing on something or has a mouth guard in there. I dunno. Something is off-putting.

I'd never heard of NS - don't watch reality TV. But she just turned 17 (!) - I thought she was a lot older. If that's the case, why didn't they recast and bring back GayJ? At least that was one character we'd seen for a while. I just can't get into B&B's latest insta-front burners - 18 months ago it was 5 new Spectra-related characters eating up the show and material in record time.

And S2 who's been more recurring since the building collapse already has been through the 3 age-appropriate men on the show during that time! Although I wouldn't mind them testing S2/Rick.

Gosh, I long for those 5 months when Myrna/Rick/C2/Widge really made for great soap TV - business, family and romantic stories all clicked. It worked because they took existing characters we all cared about and put them in different, but believable situations (Widge v Rick, Widge obsessing over C2, Rick rekindling Myrna, etc.) It ended when Rick was turned into Napoleon and Myrna into Myron.

Great episodes this week. I love the stuff with Hope/Liam/Steffy and now Bill.

The more I'm watching Xander the more I think he should have just been a Zende recast and that Bell should've kept Nicole around instead of casting Emma. Zoe could've still easily been Zende's crazy ex.

    • To bring over from the May Sweeps Thread from @Chris B   I know the fashions have gotten mixed reviews but I actually like what the new costume designer is putting the cast in. It feels more modern and the more tacky pieces I feel make sense for rich people. They're buying for the brand and the price and we often see celebs in things like this. Especially for a character like Nikki, I feel the more over the top (and tacky), the more realistic it is.   I agree. While it has been hit and miss no question, I have found it fascinating to watch what the costume designer is attempting to do with the various characters and their clothes. Some have been overdue. Some have been fascinating. But (outside of Billy) not boring to watch. I definitely find it more modern as well.   My growing issue has been it's not good that the best reason to watch Y&R as of late has been to see what people are wearing rather than the writing. It feels like a red flag.
    • Haha. The fact that I stopped regularly viewing at the same time and know what you are talking about is chef's kiss.    I'm slowly bingewatching Nurse's Ball Week. But it's slow for me because a lot of the same tics and writing flaws for me that made me throw up my hands is still evident *cough*CVE*cough* Thankfully, there are some things I like also and from a glance in the GH May Thread, it seem like it had a good Sweeps with good fallout. And do I even need to mention Nina finally slapping the taste out of Carly's mouth? See? Regardless of her flaws, I do enjoy Korte-headed episodes over CVE-headed episodes because they always seem to have more emotional resonance to long-time fans.
    • And that charity does still get mentioned from time to time. I want to say the last time was some time this year, too.
    • Oh, no. Vernon has definitely had his moments.   Choose silence anyone?
    • Search YT for Edwyn Sanchez, he posted an AI enhanced episode of ATWT and it is beautiful.
    • That's so funny, that's how I listen to Montecito - while walking my dog. I'll have to check out Forever & a Day.
    • I need to listen! Forever & a Day was a fun soapy podcast to have available when I walked the dog.
    • A few years ago, Devon and Nick started a charity organization together, I think it's for housing in the community.
    • I’m hoping to start getting to know Vernon better this month. He’s really only been a bunch of noble and good tropes so far. I don’t want him to be taken down the way Ted has been, but it seems he was a long-running Senator and no matter what party you are, lasting longer than twenty years means you’re looking out for you (and not who you’re supposed to be looking out for) most of all. I want to get to know both Vernon and Anita beyond their Dupree posturing. Clifton Davis can sleepwalk handling the kind of material Christopher Bernau and David Lewis handled and I’d like to see more than just a saint.
    • I thought Emily/Hal was a really interesting pairing. And I think KMH played that version of Emily very well! It might not have been what people wanted from Emily, and the writing got pretty gross at the end, but I thought she embodied that character effectively.
