Seeing as Bryan is recurring, and has been for years, this announcement is kinda strange.

 

Either he's decided to no longer be available to Days for whatever reason,

OR

he's been told they have no plans to call him in

OR

Lucas has been killed off (not that that means anything to Days)

Been leaving each year since 2008...

Pretty much. Like Bjorn and AZ(who is returning again!) Dattilo has been pretty much on and off really since as far back as 2001. The only difference here is Lucas has been reduced to supporting and pretty much been irrelevant this past decade with not much in the way of story-line between dating Adrienne and his annual falling off the wagon event. 

Ah, yes.  Lucas' annual fall off the wagon.  It's as routine as the swallows coming back to DAYS Capistrano.

Remember when Lumi was a real thing? I loved them way back when. I thought the McPherson/whatshisface regime tried that again briefly, though with EJ around he never stood much of a chance - which I can understand, if not for the whole rape thing.
