Shortest Wait Between Roles?

1986: Louise Sorel's wrap-up of her first run as Augusta Lockridge on Santa Barbara continued to air for a few episodes after her debut as OLTL's Judith Sanders. I watched both back-to-back at the time, and I remember how weird that was!

Speaking of Santa Barbara,

From: Melissa Reeves from Jade to Jennifer (two months)

To: Nina Arvesen from Cassandra to Angela (nearly five months)

Also, Larkin did it again! I don't have the exact date, but apparently he started playing Travis on AMC by May '87. Do we have any Loving experts to confirm if he had a short jump from Travis to Clay?

I don't know if this counts, but didn't at least one of Cady McClain's stints at ATWT overlap with one of her stints at AMC? Or was it the other way around?

According to my records, Tom's last airdate on Y&R was December 17, 2003 and her first airdate on OLTL was December 11, 2003 so she overlapped.

I remember reading an interview with Larkin where he said he was taping both EON and GL at the same time for a bit. He taped GL during the day and Edge at night. Peter Bergman's final airdate on AMC was September 22, 1989 and his first airdate on Y&R was November 27, 1989.

Ai yi, Cady did some ping-ponging:

February 26, 2002 -- Sometime before August 2002 (from Dixie to Rosanna)

July 29, 2005 -- December 23, 2005 (from Rosanna to Dixie)

January 31, 2007 -- July 30, 2007 (from Dixie to Rosanna)

January 28, 2008 -- May 2, 2008 (from Rosanna to Dixie's "ghost")

(Cady takes a break from June 2008 to May 2009, when she's Rosanna again)

December 18, 2009 -- March 4, 2010 (from Rosanna to Dixie's "ghost)

April 20, 2010 -- September 2010 (from Dixie's "ghost" to Rosanna for ATWT's finale)

(And back to Dixie less than a year later)

Oh, and Eileen Davidson had just over four months (1/15/93-5/17/93) between Kelly and Kristen.

(My head's still spinning, so I'll save someone else to figure out her ping-ponging between Kristen and Ashley)

Mark Derwin was gone from Y&R in spring 1990 and started on Guiding Light that summer, so a 3 or 4 month gap.

Michael Sabatino went from Days to B&B in fall 1993 and I remember reading somewhere his last week on Days aired the same time as his first week on B&B.

It was a lot less than that. Cady appeared in April, about a week or so before Maura returned from her maternity leave on April 22nd or so.

There was only three weeks between Maura's last appearance on ATWT on September 17, and her first on Y&R as Diane on October 8 (or 10th).
