How much time do we give Sally Sussman before we ask for her firing?

The show is boring with nothing going on. Today's show was horrible. We had Colin on and just annoying. Jill defending him to Billy. Really Jill?? Lauren's story about her company went poof!  It was just used to prop Sally Sussman's pet Gloria. And why is Sally Sussman putting us through all this mess about a supposed reporter named Scotty who is Lauren's son? Like he is going to be killed off before he actually appears?? There is no suspense in all this mess!  GMAFB Lady!!!

Honestly i was thinking after todays great suspenseful GH that Shelly Altman is needed at YR ASAP. She would give us YR fans the stories we are yearning for.

I don't know why, but a part of me felt like that story was DOA.  Like, maybe SS had ideas on where to go with it, but like Bill Bell before her, she sensed it wasn't working and moved on.

Possibly...but unlike Bill Bell...she doesnt have a lot of other stories gping on to take its place...if true.

Sadly...ive seen her previous work as headwriter (Generations...where the debut episode was more about telling then showing....and Days where she had a good entry story...the killing pool story..but stumbled thereafter).

I think Sally is like Griffith...where she is good with character and the small moments...but lacking when it comes to plot.  Very few people are like Agnes Nixon, Bill bell, Marland, or Lemay..

I also believe that interview she did hurt her. she came off a bit too arrogant. KA needs to be promoted to Co-HW and NO ONE ELSE IMPO needs to be brought in. some need to learn patience and some things about stories taking time to grow......not stunt SLs that are forgotten after a week.

Seriously? After ten years of madness we can't accept SS's material? She is too boring? No explosions? No WTD stories and no triangles? No lost kids? She doesn't write Jill and Lauren like sisters? Devon is Katherine's real family he needs to be the most powerful man in town?

If you ask me, both insta-connections between characters we have known for years were cheap and stupid. I wish they were never mentioned again, just like Gay Phillip.

This regime is great with individual episodes. I love watching the characters talk to each other, watching family relationships and friendships established again. I am really enjoying Nikki these days, the episode with Billy and Victoria's son, Jill and Lily talking, GT's relaxed version of Phyllis, Reed being a nice kid. Actually people are nice to each other for a change.

Someone said that the Scott story is stupid; we know he will not die. So what? At least someone thought of a creative way to bring him back. (TB's acting is another story).

I don't like Colin and Gloria; they belong to a different kind of soap opera. I'd rather watch Abby and Mariah fight over Ravi than Phyllis and Ashley. I hate Jack with Gloria.

But I love watching the show on daily basis. B&B has been a joke for years. GH is heartless. I hope RC brings DAYS back to life. But Y&R is the only show that feels like a real soap opera. Written by someone who seems to care for the characters, who is not treating them like faceless love triangle members or extras in a disaster movie. Yes, TPTB need to work on several things. But being mad at them? Really?

Bwhahaha...sit down!  Are you for real?? No one wants to see everyone being nice to everyone. That does not make a soap opera. GMAFB!

it is nice for a change to see a teenager in a soap not be a hellion on wheels for a change...plus the actor is doing some good work.

Yes.

If Reed were written as the typical discontent rebel without a cause, folks would be calling out SSM for not being more imaginative.

There's nothing wrong with Reed or the actor. The problem is Victoria and the actress. She is not making this non story work at all. It's a waste of time! I actually wish Reed was the one that moved in with Nikki. His scenes with her are so good. Has he even had scenes with grandpa Victor?

    • Creatively, he probably should have stayed with The Doctors, where he stood out as an antihero lead. Not sure what happened with GH. He didn't have the same impact. Was it bad writing, not clicking with co-stars? Didn't they gave him a boat load of money to join GH in 1976? Was Mark Dante just a toned-down version of Nick Bellini? Were they basically the same character?
    • All I can think of is if a lot of big names were leaving around that time she wanted him back as a stopgap, although I have never seen any real evidence that he was popular with GH viewers.
    • I loved watching Shanice hand Leslie her ass and finally shutting her up. It was so good. I also love Martin & Smitty's family.  Anita has to have some sort of plan giving Leslie the tickets to mail for Winterfest. She has to be setting her up for a fall. It's pretty obvious to me Vernon is not cheating with Sharon. I think Sharon is helping him with his terrible singing voice for Winterfest. I still believe Bill & Dani are endgame but I love Dani & Andre too. I am definitely enjoying this story. And making Hayley a black widow is a nice twist.
    • Sorry for the spam. Wasn't sure where to put this, it's from Tony Geary's husband's IG. Tony watching Genie and Maurice on Mo's show.
    • This show is really trundling along BTW. When is someone going to show up to slit Beastmaster's throat or crack the whip on metrosexual Sidwell? (BTW, openly presenting this cheery bon vivant as casually bisexual would at least be something vaguely diverting.) At least kill Brennan by year's end. I'm bored.
    • She told Vanessa to "DOUBLE her offer" on the Jarvis house.  The Jarvis family accepted the doubled price.  Assuming the house has an appraised value of $2,000,000, she's theoretically paid the Jarvis family $4,000,000 for the house.  The bank would loan Leslie 80% of the appraised value ($1,600,000), and Leslie had to pay the balance with cash at closing --- $2,200,000.  She only had ONE million.  Where the hell did she get the rest?!  And now she's got contractors working on the house all day & half the night.  Who's paying THEM?  I keep thinking all this will crash around her.  Either that or the writers have absolutely no idea the limits of a million dollars.  Sounds like a "lot of money", but it obviously ain't when we look at Leslie's spending since she got that million dollar check in August.

    • Vernon is an idiot. Why would he have Sharon in the same hotel that Leslie is staying at?
    • Yes, that out of the blue return was odd. Maybe GG found a forgotten clause in the contract he signed when he was wooed to ABC and they were forced to take him back! Like George Reinholt he talked about the contract that promised him primetime roles. But it was loaded in the networks favor. I think it was Gloria Loring that re-signed at Days on the promise of primetime opportunities, but that was all it was- she was put up for guest spots and TV movies but not necessarily guaranteed that she get the role.
    • I still am baffled by why Monty brought back stunt hire Gerald Gordon in the early '80s out of nowhere for like a year. I haven't found anyone who can come up with a thing he did in that second stint of note.
