Have a nice day.

This made my morning!!! thank you so much for posting. Eric has such a great sense of humor.

I haven't watched it yet but saw the week's preview, and also didn't know Nikki became nasty towards her. I feel that Nikki has not liked Sharon because 1. Sharon grew up in the same type of environment that Nikki feels she grew up in (minus Sharon's father, whereas Nikki's father molested her) and 2. because of Sharon's upbringing and other things, Nikki has never thought Sharon was good enough for either of her sons. Now Sharon has done her true dirt, but Nick did as well. I think her disorder gives the writers a permanent out whenever she does something crazy (is Sharon off her meds?) instead of the motivation being strictly dark and selfish. JMO though.

Interesting viewpoint, Roman.  Thinking through it, it could even limit the character's growth.  Everyone has days or moments when they just aren't going to take sh!t from anyone, isn't that human nature?  That could have been the case with Sharon yesterday, but instead of chalking it up to that, the first thing we think is she's off her meds.  Given that, unless SS can come with a convincing story to undo it, and nothing has given me a reason to think she will, I'm ok with letting it be as long as we don't get Crazy Sharon.

Nikki didn't get down in the dirt until Sharon came for her.  Then it was on.

It has in past regimes. instead of writing for her character, they wrote her character around the story. My favorite writing has always been told from the characters themselves, and it makes it so much more interesting. JER had that SO BAD.....making plots much more important that characterization. when that has happened, IMPO, shows have suffered. I believe it's one of the reasons why we only have 4 daytime dramas in the USA. I remember EastEnders when it first started...they always told their stories through their characters. My hope is that SSM and KA along with MY leading the way will have it there by summer.

Nikki made her peace with Sharon 15 years ago but Y&R's writers keep insisting the two fight because they refuse to acknowledge the tremendous growth of their relationship.

It's the same way Y&R loves to act like Lauren had no life prior to marrying Michael or turning Jack, Danny & Paul into deadbeat dads regardless of what has transpired onscreen.

and I also know they made their peace.....but off and on for the last 10 years, the writers have thrown that out the window. and what some don't seem to understand is this IMO.....if a daytime drama has been pretty bad for over a decade, 2 months is nowhere near enough time to fix everything. these characters have to be rebuilt in some cases....with Sharon being one of them.

Victor sold B&S to Billy just to screw Victoria for testifying against him in his trial.

I don't think a lot of fans have a problem with characters being rebuilt. I think they have a problem with the writers pushing existing formulas which no longer work because previous regimes ruined the characters involved.

In this particular exchange I actually sided with Sharon. She was taking responsibility for her behavior as a mother and as a wife & everyone in her inner circle were so busy worrying about how she was gonna handle Dylan leaving they weren't allowing her room to process his departure. Nikki used Sharon's illness as a convenient excuse to bash Sharon even though Sharon wasn't really acting irrationally & acknowledged the stress was causing her to be short with everyone.

again?! the TVMSM thinks everything he does is breaking news. I know back in the day, if there was breaking news that interrupted Days and Y&R (knowing the networks would not repeat those episodes) we got PISSED.

IA with you...but there is a thread right now calling for SSM to be fired, and it hasn't even been 3 months since her material has been on air. Many probably don't have a problem with it (I don't at all) but unfortunately some do. What I'm glad of is that we may finally have a Y&R regime that will take their time and rebuild and when they're ready the good stories will start up.

Your avatar makes me giggle GregNYC, not sure why.  Thanks for the laugh.

I tuned in for the last half of today's, Friday's, epi and was pleasantly surprised.  Sharon's scenes where she's going over her mistakes with Sully, not telling Nick etc.  and staring at pics of Dylan were really well done and watchable.  Ditto her scenes with Victor who decided to be nice to her finally and tell her she belonged in GC and was part of the family.  That felt really right to me.

sucks balls.   The actor that played Jordan was good, believable, attractive and had chemistry with Lily.  What I would like to see is Cane and Lily break up, Cane and Victoria get together and Lily be on her own casually seeing Jordan on the side.  Is this going to happen?  Nope!  Cane and Lily will continue to be the most boring stupid couple on the show.  Why quit now.

CBS had no reason to cut-in to this press conference, except when Scott Pelley tipped it that Trump would be asked questions about the 9th Circuit decision. Honestly, that was yesterday's news. Ironically, it was a rare day when I was actually home and even though the episode didn't look good from write-up, I figured I'd watch. I turned it off as soon as CBS made this choice.

    • It's sad she can't be a part of his on-screen tribute somehow.
    • I feel the same. I didn’t expect to care about them but the chemistry is strong and I’d love to see them go public and try to make it work.
    • Keith D. Robinson has a lot less screen presence so far than Maurice Johnson had, but I think he's probably a much better technical actor.  I couldn't be happier we're finally moving along with the caucasians. Andre and Ashley better be f*cking by the end of the week, or so help me, just to move the story along even quicker. That's the second time there's been a hint that Dani will get involved with the Doug/Vanessa/Joey story somehow. Maybe it'll happen in response to Andre/Ashley getting together?
    • I have this STRONG feeling that if they put Derek opposite a Kat, Eva, Chelsea, or Shanice, I would NOT be surprised to see him pop and shine. Ashley, on the other hand, has Andre and the actress cannot even sell that pairing. I am really starting to believe that Ashley is the problem and might need to become a year 1 casualty.

    • Honestly, rewatching the mid-80's, I wonder if Pam Long GAF about anyone other than Reva. Even Alexandra, who isn't getting any great story that I can see, she revolves around her precious Brandon.  Reva is supposed to be plucky, "tell it like it is" brave for living with no regrets, while she pisses and moans, biting the Lewis hand that clothes and feeds her so she can lust after a virtual stranger because they've both "hungered" to be a Lewis and feel like they've been excluded from the precious Lewis circle of trust.  Lord love a duck. Long didn't know how to write for strong women. She's not interested in Annabelle, Nola, Katie (although she hadn't had a story since '81) or Trish, Mo and Claire have babyitis, Roxy's an ex-whore, Mindy's spoiled but occasionally tries to grow up and Beth cries all day everyday. Yes, Vanessa isn't the mover and shaker she was upon entering Springfield. But at least she was allowed to grow as a character. Unlike Reva, she's not hamstrung in some eternal sexpot role that she can't escape from.  As much as I dislike some aspects of the Dylan storyline, it's arguably Long's best umbrella story. Yes, it could've been written without Vanessa, but it's undoubtably richer for her being in it.
    • Thank you! I feel the exact same way. Xander and EJ are great villains. This moment between Xander and Philip has been building since November. It was ugly, it was horrible, but it was real. Not some Nickelodeon b.s. that this show has constantly served for years. Now, a big part of why I like these characters are the actors who portray them. They are dynamic, charismatic, and genuinely talented. They actually feel like the new Stefano and Victor, but without being carbon copies. They are their own messed up, villainous, bastards. There are multiple characters in their corner and against them at any given time. Both good and fellow bad people in the community praising and damning them. The show feels like a soap opera again. And crazy as it is to say, I'm even more excited to watch it then I am Beyond the Gates most days, and that's saying a lot. As for Stephanie's book, they're keeping me intrigued wondering where it's going. Bringing in Kate was a genius move. However, I'm still Abigail Klein's biggest hater on this board. Generic Barbie is literally the Sofia Mattsson of DAYS to me, just a complete wash of an actress. However, I think her being a PR person is a damp squib of a profession and since we're stuck with her this could be a way of finally getting her away from her "successful firm." Body and Soul was her lowest low, even worse than when she was poisoning apples or whatever trying to kill Chloe of all people. Philip returning was the best thing to happen to her character in ages. When both stories were happening simultaneously, you could literally see the difference in how much energy she put into performances from one scene to the next.
    • I find the black & white episodes FAR more atmospheric and spooky than the color episodes.   The first few months of Dark Shadows move ploddingly slow when you're binge-watching, with entirely too much repetition and exposition.  But as someone noted above, it's the only time in the show when you get much character development.  After the 1795 sequence, it's pretty much like "just make something up; nobody cares."   The series essentially became self-parody with the overload of monsters & ghoulies.  I was watching a scene one time in which the Witch was attempting to stop the Phoenix from staking the Vampire, and I got tickled at the absurdity of three "monsters" in one scene.
    • So cool!!!   And that picture is fierce!!!
