Katzman didn't understand that the show was about JR and Pam... not JR and Bobby.

I agree.

@AbcNbc247 said it should've been Bobby dreaming the whole season while in a coma and waking up in the season premiere. That would've been more plausible.

I agree here, too.

Sorry for going off-topic again, but Pamela Bellwood's exit from DYNASTY was just as dumb as Victoria Principal's, if not dumber, lol.  Why does Claudia just stand there and cry as the fallen candle sets the curtains on fire?  She's standing close enough to the door to make a run for it!

I thought Susan Lucci made for a great addition to the cast in the final season.  I just wish they had given her a better storyline.

The thing I liked about the mini series and the 1st full season with Pam was that she may have pulled herself up by the boot straps by working at the department store and marrying Bobby.. but there were times we were reminded that in her heart, she was a Waco girl... and had a coolness/strength that radiated.

Sadly.. that was lost as the show pressed on... though she could deliver a slap that packed a punch (i.e. Katherine when discovering she forged a letter to Bobby, and JR a few times).

Katzman didn't understand that the show was about JR and Pam... not JR and Bobby.

I agree. David Jacobs said Pamela Barnes Ewing should have been the most fascinating character he ever created, but she never really became the way he envisioned her.

As the series wore on Pam became emotionally unstable and Bobby often treated her like crap because of his male ego.

It's a shame that aspect of Pam's characterization didn't last. I guess it was a casualty of so many people on DALLAS (and in primetime soaps as a whole) becoming/being well off. Once you've got it, it apparently doesn't matter how, or how it's affecting you.

There's a wonderful YouTuber, Cool Channel Network, who's been doing some amazing recaps. These words about Bobby really sums it up.

@Khan

Glad you're back!

Bobby's return in the cliffhanger(#3) and the season premiere(#4) got Dallas back in the top 5. The problem was the explanation to his return. @AbcNbc247 said it should've been Bobby dreaming the whole season while in a coma and waking up in the season premiere. That would've been more plausible.

Way more plausible.

They might not have even had to reset the show as much as they did. Plus, it would have much more believable to have the whole season be Bobby’s months long coma dream as opposed to Pam dreaming up all that [!@#$%^&*] in one night 😂😂

Yep, and then you could have retained some of the elements of the coma season, because what were they talking to Bobby about while he was comatose?

I agree about the show being Pam vs JR. That was the Barnes/Ewing feud distilled to its essence.

Maybe Pam should have been written out like Dynasty’s Claudia. She’s pissed at the family and has a nervous breakdown, lighting candles in her room and naming them after all the people she can’t stand. Then one tips over and lights the room ablaze. Southfork is on fire - again - and Pamela is burned and bandaged up. She flees Dallas when the bandages come off.

Looking at that cover, did Tristian Rogers and Emma Samms ever have a real life relationship? I know it's the National Enquirer and all...

I had it so bad for Omri Katz on Eerie Indiana when I was a kid; he was several years older than me. I guess I should be glad he shaved his huge stoner beard.

BTW if anyone was wondering what Kimberly Foster (Michelle) was up to since Dallas was cancelled, she married a businessman who pioneered multi-spectrum internet for home usage.  There were some financial setbacks, but this article sums it up best
