I think we may be seeing more of these types of jumps -- from streaming to a network--in the future.  CBS All Access quietly decided to run the first couple seasons of the streaming platform's most popular, highly acclaimed series The Good Fight on CBS network during the summer. It will be interesting to see what the results are considering how different TGF is from CBS' usual fare and also the fact that being on a streaming platform has allowed TGF to take a lot more risks in the writing and characterizations than the traditional CBS network series. 

Cable, I would imagine would be a more seamless transition from streaming, considering the risks cable has already been taking with its shows for decades.

I totally did not recognize Glenn Scarpelli as the hotel clerk in episode 7 of Season 3 (where Elena and Syd have sex).

Neither did I. Wow. Well it was nice they gave him a cameo. 

On a semi-related note of schadenfreude, I saw this coming the instant I heard these actors wanted raises upon renewal a couple weeks ago. Conventional wisdom has been floated that Netflix cut ODAAT because it felt its own show, On My Block, would be equally palatable and/or interchangeable in terms of Latino-centric programming while no longer having to pay out to a third party like ODAAT. And now...

Well of the show is on the low budget end maybe an increase to 80k an episode

 

250000 is a big jump for a show pulling ok numbers but not ST numbers

The episode runtime is being shortened to 21 mins.

Miller joked that losing the seconds may be somewhat less exciting for the showrunner than the writers, but he still is excited to see the series get a new life. “I call it a family reunion, because I am thinking of my nieces and nephews (who are) so excited that we were rescued on this linear network, and they are excited to be part of the family again,” he said. “Norman Lear started his career on CBS, and we’re back on CBS, so it’s a very full-circle moment.

Kellett predicted the Pop TV audience would be larger than the Netflix audience because “not everyone can afford Netflix.” She said in the first season on Pop would help a new audiences catch up with the story line.

 

She would not reveal the new season story arc, but said, “It’s obvious that 2020 is an election year, and this is a LatinX family in America…we have tried on the show to have hard conversations that families have to have, especially LatinX families. We are still going to continue to have those conversations.”

Having witnessed her in action personally, Viola Davis is certified gold onstage, I expect greatness as far as she's concerned. Andre Braugher will make a great James too.  I'm not sure about Haddish onstage but I can't quibble about any of the rest of the cast.
