It is Frank (IMO). That's been in the wind for awhile. I never, ever thought he would leave himself this vulnerable - I didn't think he was willing to show out on his ego as he has been lately, especially over the last year. 2013 and Prospect Park was when his reputation for keeping it cool really began to start to break apart, but it's since he cut loose Ron that we've seen him really doubling and tripling down by himself, with ME again, Franco and Liz and now Bree Williamson. Ron was just a convenient stalking horse for their shared preferences. It's a flameout the likes of which the show may not have seen since Gloria Monty, who also fell from hailed super-producer to walking disaster.

I have no idea who they would replace him with. I do feel confident that Writing Team A is JP/Altman. Team B (physically and mentally incapable) is Dena Higley, whom stories of instability and illness have been dogging for years.

I'd rather have Pissy and Altman than Higley at GH. Sigh. Why does the bad keep replacing the bad? Is Higley really in contention?  What about DAYS?? Not that I expected her to last.... sounds like a mess is coming

Whatever happens, I just don't think they are willing to find anybody that will totally turn things around for either GH or DOOL......It's gonna end up being something like Guza returning for GH, and having Shelley and Jean go to DOOL...

If the item about a writing team having until the end of summer to improve is about Jean/Shelly, then I'm betting they're definitely out. After all, it looks like this summer GH is going to be all about 3 storylines - Claudette, Sabrina & her baby, and more of Hayden. Three big "who cares" stories, with the occasional diversion to show whatever it is Michael Easton's character is up to. As Anna's storyline seems to be wrapping up, and Laura only appears once or twice a month (despite Genie being on contract), there's not much to look forward to in the near future.

I don't know who would be available or interested in taking over as HW - and it would probably require a new EP - but I won't be surprised if GH is the show referred to in the item.

I think the EP is JFP.  Her contract cycle should be coming up in the summer.  And I think the new EP will be Mal Young, now that they've given him time to get accustom to how the production works.

Y&R hired Mal Young?! THE Mal Young of BBC/Eastenders/Doctors/Family Affairs/Brookside?

You'd almost think CBS/Sony cared about the show hiring someone like him...you don't hire someone like Mal Young to have him play #2 to JFP for very long.

Frank has been an EP since 2003. That's a veteran.

I can see the reasoning on JFP very easily and I hope they do oust her, but I also know Frank's had a target on his back.

The first one is definitely Frank. GH is practically in the dumps.

It's safe to say that the last two blind items about the writers is clearly Y&R and DAYS.

I know Brad [Bell] is somewhere cheesing b/c he never has to worry about his job.

I hope it is Jill going and Mal taking her position. He'd at least clean house and possibly restore this show to it's true glory. They'd need to get rid of Chuck's basic ass too.

Again, I hope this is true so then he can hear the fans cries and pleas to get Kay Alden (w/ Sally S. Morina) back.

    • Am I remembering correctly that the Madison's lived in a Spanish revival-style house? I have a vague recollection of the fireplace looking especially Spanish in style. It is unusual that Montecello had so many architectural styles.  Obviously, that might occur IRL.  But, look at other east coast soaps and there is a definitive style that is throughout (because it was styled by a set decorator) regardless of the income of the occupants.
    • @kalbir MSW was a powerhouse for CBS. Angela Lansbury was a superb actress. In 1985, TV viewers were tiring of the primetime soaps and the like. People wanted storytelling and MSW was great at that and had great guest stars. Storytelling -- an amazing and novel concept. CBS Daytime by 1985 was beating ABC so CBS was on the upswing.
    • I'd say just the opposite - conflict means they will find out and then be at odds. For the limited amount of time people on this show have conflict (if they aren't named Nina or Ric, I guess).
    • Totes mcgoats (aka I agree). But, now the character needs to move forward.  Clyde's exit was 12/11/24.  It is May.  She and Chad have been on one date. I don't think they've slept together. And she was only planning on sticking around for a year.
    • That is one of the best insults I've heard in a long time.  I burst out laughing when Kat called Eva that.  LOL Their scenes, of course, were really good.  Colby and Ambyr have so much chemistry.  The only thing I'd change is Kat saying "you're dead to me."  That's a phrase usually said about someone you care about.  I would've preferred something like "You will never be my sister," or something similar to that.  Nice contrast at the end with both mothers/daughters:  Kat comforting/consoling her mother, and Eva being locked out by her mother.  Yeah, I wasn't a big of fan of the singing either, especially after your daughter's life has been destroyed.  What?  LOL And I also agree with those that thought Dana/Leslie's scenes with the Dupree's didn't feel right since Eva is not a Dupree....unless she is.  But as of right now, she's not.
    • Trisha Mann-Grant, Ambyr Michelle, Sean Freeman are destined for bigger and better things. They need to move on as soon as their initial contracts are done.
    • Daphnée Duplaix and Trisha Mann-Grant on Instagram live, 5/5/2025 just concluded, saved here https://www.instagram.com/p/DJSsYb7PDv8/
    • I really need to see Anita in a scene that isn't with a family member. In fact, I would have preferred that she would have gotten rid of the mob and had a one on one with Leslie to lay down the law with her.  I'm going to say it, Mike Manning has been completely lifeless on this show. Other than people's superficial fondness for him, I don't get what they see in him as an actor. I never saw him on DAYS though. The show had another really strange cut right before the opening credits where it looked like they almost cut off Nicole mid-sentence.  Kat/Eva are carrying this show on their backs. Lock them in for lifetime contracts, I beg.
    • There's a 1980 scene of Victor and Katherine in the Chancellor Estate living room where they went over a contract that would put Victor in charge of Chancellor Industries, but it was rewritten that Katherine brought Victor to Genoa City so he could run Chancellor Industries.
    • Put me in the minority in being happy about Cat not being Abby. After the two adult recasts played tag with the role, it's time for a few years of rest. I have a huge list of things I hate about RC's writing, but that choice was not one of them.
