Members DaytimeFan
I just loved him. He was a star and an exceptional talent. Remembered by his close friend, Ruby Wax: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p03fhw0b
Members DRW50
That was very nice. I never knew they were close friends. I've never actually seen the Harry Potter movies, so, while I understand why people loved him in those, I was glad to hear her talk about him outside of that. Members I Am A Swede
I guess he was most famous for his villainous roles, but I think he also gave a wonderful performance as Colonel Brandon in "Sense and Sensibility"

Members Bright Eyes
That clip was brought to my attention yesterday on another site. This will sound sacrilegious, but I've never seen an Alan Rickman film. Not Die Hard, or Dogma, or Robin Hood, and especially not any of the Harry Potter films. However, watching that clip yesterday really made me want to watch Truly, Madly, Deeply. It looks like something I would be very much enjoy. Members YRBB
You never fail to stun me! It's his most important work. If you truly like him as much as you say, you are doing a great disservice to yourself not having seen him as Snape! I'm so sorry for you.

Members Mr. Vixen
This really has hit me hard this week. Harry Potter was an essential part of my youth and reminds me so much of better, simpler times. And he was a big part of that. What a phenomenal talent he was, gone way, way too soon. Members Cat
Like DRW, I missed out on the Harry Potter films, but I remember him from Die Hard, Galaxy Quest and Sense and Sensibility. One of my all time favorite actors, and I had such a huge crush on him. I think it was his voice and sense of humor. ' "And when Alexander saw the breadth of his domain, he wept, for there were no more worlds to conquer." Benefits of a classical education.'
