This show is such a strange ass mess. 

Even the stuff I missed when I was on my DAYS break had alot of cartoonish mess. I thought people said DAYS had moved to  a more serious tone.

It did. We have a new (returning) writer that seems to be inspired by JER

So after Kristen stole Theresa's embroyo the show moved to a serious tone only to move back?

DAYS has been campy for most of it's life, if we're being honest. Their was a sweetness to the camp before JER. JER just took it to a whole 'nother level and the writers that followed him would ultimately always fall back into JER's cheap bag of tricks.

 

So the young man who plays Chad hinted that this brainwashing will be a short story on Twitter. DAYS new super fast pace works in our favor sometimes, I guess. This combined with recent Belle & Philip spoilers takes me back to a Twitter spree from last weekend.

 

Last week a drive-by Tweeter posted "spoilers" that I now believe will all probably happen.

 

Maggie is going to get drunk and kill Daniel while drinking and driving on NYE. Icey river death but with a body. Unfortunately, Eric is doing the same that night and ends up in the same river as Daniel. Eric is arrested. Maggie has no memory. All of this was taped on location.

 

Two couples will have sex on NYE. One of those couples are Belle and Philip.

 

Chad and Abby's relationship hits a rough patch. All is well by Christmas.

 

Ben adds to his body count in January.

 

Ava reveals to Steve that they have a daughter. Ava meets with a plastic surgeon and a plan is put in place to disfigure  Kayla. Steve becomes ill after moving back home with Kayla. Caroline's visions re:Kayla get her kidnapped.

 

Hope's quest for revenge leads her to Stefano. There will be a 4 actor retrospective episode in the new year. Mascolo will be one of the four actors.

Its so stupid. So Andre is going to brainwash Chad into trying to seduce Belle into giving him Sami's stolen money. Why not brainwash Belle into giving it up instead?

Are these even real?

As, I said, personally I believe they're all going to play out due to the reasons pre-faced. I can't say they are real for a fact, no.

The Daniel death scenario sounds like it's probably going to happen. IDK that it happens that way. Maggie has a few weeks to become a raging drunk again, I guess. Can you imagine that mess? Lord.

 

I'm not sure  I'm into where DAYS is going and that makes me incredibly sad because I thought the new regime started out decently.

 

Not saying it won't be great material and great work but I'm losing interest again and fast.

JER wasn't the first writer to do silly, over the top plots like this. JER dragged things out. Josh and Dena rush through the plots and skip many important beats. They are nothing alike!

I'm giving this [!@#$%^&*] to the new year because a lot of that is messy and so is the show itself. There's good stuff amidst a lot of bad and the plotting is abysmal.

Speaking of villains, are any of them really driving story?

 

And a grief-striken Gina-lite Hope does not count?

Driving story? Nope. Driving plots. I guess so. 

 

I don't find any of these 'villains' necessary. Not even Andre for the 1000th time.

Hahahaha at the Ava shade.

 

See? now Ben I would agree. He has been driving story. And while the conclusion felt sidenoted and not worth losing Will, it has been a great ride for the most part.

IMO, it's time for DAYS to phase out all the villains, including the Dimera clan. It's time to retire them. They just need to focus on vixens and bad boys because they don't have the budget for over-the-top villains.
