I guess the fact that it's not only Jean is small favors. Jean is mediocre death to any soap.

I used to think Shelly Altman had a long history on staff at GH, but Wikipedia says otherwise.

I have no pity for Ron, but I do pity the show.

Actually, even if all they manage to do is take the show to the level Y&R was in late 2014/early 2015, we're already winners. It wasn't fantastic soap but GH was so bad, this is an insane upgrade.

I am not looking forward to Soap Media Twitter rending its garments all weekend and shrieking about the injustice, blaming anyone and everyone from Tony Geary to Nathan Varni to the ghost of Jeanne Cooper for Ron's stories, characters and choices. Brian Frons has been out of the building since 2012 - Ron has few excuses left.

There will always be an element of network or EP oversight on a HW, always some pressures or actor clashes. That is the nature of the job, but what was left onscreen was largely Ron's personal vision, IMO.

Ron started out as the underdog and I was one of his first and most vocal fans at OLTL. He made that show good again for me, consistently, for the first time since the '90s. Then, within a year, he began [!@#$%^&*] up, and by the time he got to GH his problems were magnified intensely. Now those massive flaws are obscuring everything else.

Ron has a lot of love for these shows and for daytime, but he also has a lot of ego and a lot of bad impulses. He made this situation himself. He's not the first once-beloved HW to fall apart in daytime because of their own excess, but he just might be the last. He did it to himself. Nobody else did it to him.

Agree to disagree, their show put me to sleep. And I don't know Altman well, but Jean Passanante is the bottom of the barrel for me and has been for over fifteen years. They should have gone out and thrown money at Karen Harris or any number of other hands.

Doesn't this woman just travel from soap to soap reigning over their cancellations? Weren't they both just fired recently from another soap? I don't see how this can be good news. She is like the kiss of death it seems.

Well not a surprise at all. But damn, couldn't they at least promote someone that works in daytime that has never had a shot at being HW? Does it always have to be a fired HW from another soap?

Hahahahaha

From one hack to more fired hacks from Y&R….but yes Carlivati sorry lame **&&(*^(^ is gone!

How long before Christopher Goutman is hired as EP for GH?

    • Welcome back, Shawn Douglas! It's been a while. It really is too bad that the writers don't really have an interest in the character because there are still a lot of ways that he can be used effectively on the canvas. He should have been a part of the 60th anniversary celebrations as well. If anything, just to represent Bo and Hope. And I'd much rather see Jada paired with him than possibly with Theo. But I enjoyed him getting caught up with Belle, and comforting her. I'm sure they'll find their way back to each other at some point but I do like them as divorced friends. I just hope we see it play out onscreen. Belle being a dick about Sami again was unnecessary though. And we finally saw Liam again!  I'm curious to see how this storyline is going to play out, and who's going to be weaved into it. He and Abe do work well together too. And we learned that he has a kid. Hopefully, we'll learn more about his character in the future. But I'm not really sure about Johnny and Chanel suddenly having problems with raising Trey. They've wanted a baby for so long, so I don't understand why this is even an issue. They should know by now what it's like to raise a baby. But I did enjoy Johnny's scenes with EJ, and that Johnny still hasn't refused to forgive him. This storyline was/is very clunky, but having the two of them be at odds is the right decision. There's so much story potential that can be drawn from that. As for Chad... there was no time for us to see his reunion with Will, but there's time for us to see him talking BS with Leo? I don't get it. And I don't get all this random dating app stuff either. Leo and Javi were boring af too. If we're forced to endure them, can they at least have some real conflict? The two of them losing the baby was the perfect opportunity for it.

    • I enjoy BF better on Days than on YR.   Chad is greater than Cane, in my opinion.
    • Ick! Seeing MS and BF making out as the characters onscreen was just ewwww.

    • That was the best part of Tuesday's episode.  Martin and Smitty and their family are boring.
    • Crew Morrow's acting on Tuesday's episode was just dreadful. The weird faces he was making were just awful
    • Creatively, he probably should have stayed with The Doctors, where he stood out as an antihero lead. Not sure what happened with GH. He didn't have the same impact. Was it bad writing, not clicking with co-stars? Didn't they gave him a boat load of money to join GH in 1976? Was Mark Dante just a toned-down version of Nick Bellini? Were they basically the same character?
