At first, I thought it was going to be "From soap start to handyman," but nothing like that at all. (Though there's quite of bit of shade intentional or not: "flown first class to malls.") JC was very likable in the role. And, yeah, it was clear when he had that bad patch, but I don't ever recall hearing about his family tragedy.
