I think Victor going after Ashley's paternity is to get Abby away from the Abbott's and Jack. By exposing Ashly as not a Abbott I think Victor is trying to ruin the family connection. Victor is going after Jack with all he has and by having Ashly n Jack not related Victor can get what he wants.

Abby goes by Newman. And exposing Ashley as not being a Blood relative of John's takes nothing away from Jack. It doesn't follow IMO.

however, I think you are spot on that this is totally about Abby. I suspect she will have some identity crisis as of she isn't still blood relatives of everyone in the Abbot family except Billy and his brood. And even not, as if it matters. This is Abby's story for sure. Abd it will draw her closer to Stitch. He will be her rock.

I don't mind them revisiting this issue because it happened on screen. I don't know why everyone is bent on Victor. After all, Jack used this fact to blackmail Ashley out of the Jabot presidency. So no real room here for Jack to complain.

Perhaps, the 'real' secret is that John is actually alive. Like CG, I don't think anyone would complain if they found a way to bring JD back with a fake death. Unfortunately, despite plenty of opportunities, the writers have never been able to make Jack the Abbott patriarch - nothing close to what John was. Bringing JD back 'alive' would work for me - there is a 'gap' that needs to be filled by someone like JD, after Jeanne passed. We all know that EB would never fill that role.

This Ashley secret is ridiculous. Abby isn't 12 years old. She grew up with Billy, does it really matter that they aren't biologically related? This type of story always seems like such a slap in the face to anyone who is adopted.

Adopted? That isn't even an issue. John never KNEW that Ashley wasn't his bio daughter. Dina had an affair with the golf pro and never told John. Very few people ever knew the truth about Ashley bio father. And, honestly, even if John did find out, it wouldn't have mattered at all because: 1) John was that kind of person; and 2) he and Ashley always had a strong bond.

I'm not sure of the Billy speculation because Abby and Billy are 'half' nephew/niece (through Ashley) - they aren't siblings - so that bond shift isn't material to any story (unless they tried to pair them), which would be too gross for even B&B 'family bonding.'
