Can you actually say that Peter Reckell, Stephen Nichols and Matthew Ashford received good writing in the last 10+ years? Can you actually say any of those actors have given great performances in the last 10+ years? Because I can't. They're tired and the characters they play are burned out. What's killed daytime is the failure to evolve and the failure to balance nostalgia with progress.

I think Stephen Nichols and Matthew had some good material when Patch first came back to the show. But that was it. I also think Peter didn't truly start phoning it in until his last 2 years on the show. But I do agree that vets without good story equals nothing. The right story with those people involved in it is what needs to happen if they are going to be viable.
