February 8, 201511 yr Member I stumbled across this by accident and judging by the 14 views not many people have. Helena Cassadine herself once starred in SHOWBOAT playing Julie, the half white/half black tragic singer. I don't even understand how she got that part but I had to research to see if this was indeed the same Constance Towers and sure enough it is. She had a great voice.
February 8, 201511 yr Member She sang for quite a few years. She was on Ed Sullivan several times, and was the lead female in some small musical with Frankie Laine. She once talked about how she sang "With A Song In My Heart" at Rory Calhoun's funeral (he played her father on Capitol), which was his favorite song. She said she could barely get through it.
February 8, 201511 yr Member She had quite a New York stage career, she also starred in The King and I. She sang on Capitol as well.
February 9, 201511 yr Member I have a record somewhere, it's a the soundtrack to a musical, that she is featured on.
