I finally tried to read some of that Fairman interview, and what I hate more than a favorable interview is that every damn question amounts to this:

"Some are saying this year's General Hospital was the best of all time. How do you, as a producer and a writer of a show that is seen as the best of all time, cope with such a pressure as this?"

"Julian and Alexis have set a screen on fire. How do you manage to do such an amazing job showing such sex passion in such a new good way?"

"General Hospital 2013 an anniversary was amazing in 2013. The pressure of following up on amazing 2013 anniversary year General Hospital I can't imagine. What did you do and how did you do it?"

Aaaggghhh!!!

Lots of boinking today ... Ned/Alexis (who's fooling no one, she's still way hung up on Jillian) ... Olivia/Jillian ... Ric/Liz ... Maxie/Nathan ...

Shirtless Sloane ... (he's starting to grow on me, so of course he's not lasting) ... Duke/Lucy kiss ...

I really do like Patrick and Sam together, and Jakeson/Carly have a nice friendship chemistry IMO.

Honestly, the best thing about today's episode was seeing the preview for tomorrow and Bobbie's back and finally interacting with Fluke (haven't the only had a few scenes, at best?) ... unfortunately the break from Sonny ends tomorrow and he's looking ragged. Morgan looks just as bad. TAKE A BATH!

Today's show was horrible.

Everyone was acting like they were teenagers. But, this is Ron's writing I'm talking about. So, it's to be expected.

I'm basically done with this show. It's just gotten too awful to even have any emotion other than anger when watching it anymore. Anger for what it's become. How far it has fallen. I miss real GH. Not this awful OLTL/Passions knock-off hybrid from Hell.

Elizabeth's pony tail was ugly as was her dress. I will be rolling my eyes if she dumps Ric after she learns he convinced Jake to step aside.

Maxie and Nathan....dont care

Sam and Patrick were cute and Im glad nothing happened bc that would have been horrible lead up to their first time. They need to just let it happen instead of all that talking

I really wish they had kept this agent on and developed he and Anna bc they work well together

Alexis/Ned/Olivia/Julian continues to be the worst quad in daytime

So did Lucy and Kevin ever get divorced or is she still legally married?

Carly was so annoying today. How can she sit there and talk about how Elizabeth turns a blind eye to everything Ric has done and only sees the good in him with a straight face? Bitch, you just did the SAME thing with Franco. I was LMAO when Jakeson wiped off her kiss.

Naxie are so boring. Her post-baby body looks fantastic though.

I just said that to my sister about Maxie. Storms looks amazing for having recently having a child. Bravo to her. I'm so glad she returned, because JL just wasn't Maxie. As annoying as her character is, Storms has always played her, faults and all, in character.

See ya Sloane...you look good, but your character is a typical Cartini creation. At least this role was a step up from Sharon's (Y&R) businessman ONS last year when she was off her meds.

Any time LH is on the screen, she lights it up. Don't even mind her with the ole' queen I mean mobster, Duke.

Julivia...just...no....Can't they just realize that some of their "creations" just don't work. Looking at you...Jillian, Silazzzzzz, Kaka, Carlosssssss,Cranko,Nutsy Nina, Sobbrina[who seems like she's got the next ticket to recurringville]... Your production schedule is not so far ahead that these flops are driving us away from our once favorite show.

I guess that tweet from Marc Samuel about going to recurring is the last we'll ever hear from him on this show. (I'm not complaing, but at least they could have given him a scene w/ Sobby.

Again it's time for the milk cartons...TJ, Brad, Lucas, Lesley, Kevin, Tracey......We're waiting Ron.....

) Anyways... I did really feel disgusted by Eurovision this year and I doubt I'll watch this horrific musical torture in the future. My ears and my psyche will not survive.
    • Regarding the mobster storyline: The scripts, the cardroom set, and the writing for Joey -- are all terrible. They seem to be writing a realistic depiction of compulsive gambling as an addiction, showing that it pops into his head all the time -- it has become hardwired into his brain.  The APA (American Psychological Association) describes compulsive gambling as having a similar effect on the physical brain as drug and alcohol addiction. https://www.apa.org/monitor/2023/07/how-gambling-affects-the-brain I think Jason Graham (Doug) is doing an adequate job playing Doug as a compulsive gambler, with the thoughts/urges coming into his head all the time, and being unable to stop. However, the cardroom set is awful and the mobster storyline is a bad cliché, so it's all so uninteresting to watch. I think Mr. Graham is doing the best he can with the crap they gave him to work with. If anyone reading or watching has a gambling issue, check out Gamblers Anonymous.  They have many types of meetings -- in-person, online, video, audio, etc.  They also have resources for friends/family of compulsive gamblers.
    • Today was painful (especially for Philip).  I still feel for Xander. He was clear he was happy sharing and working with Philip. It's just one more betrayal from someone he loved. Going back to last year when he found out about Victor and Fiona, then Alex and Philip. He forgave and tried. Then Philip went behind his back again. He's been walking on the edge for weeks. This is a man who was abused, neglected and has never had any therapy for his horrific past. He has zero coping skills because he's never learned them. I hate this but I refuse to hate Xander
    • Lucy Coe wasn't even this big of a whore.
    • Kate being the one that Alex called was a nice surprise. The cut to her looking all sheek made me instantly get excited for her to get back into business mode. And the Jack reference from when she first came to town (on-screen) was inserted naturally which is always welcome. When they were talking about how much sex sells, I almost got the impression they were sizing each other up in a May/December type of way.  All the Philip stuff was gruesome. I'm happy the show isn't shying away from Xander's ugliness. I love them both, and it just makes me intrigued for the aftermath for it all to be taken seriously. I cheered when Philip spat out at that Sarah knew the truth. I'm on tenterhooks for their eventual confrontation. I was surprised that Kate wasn't a little vicious towards Sarah for Xander's obvious behavior, but maybe that's still to come. How wonderfully entangled is it that both Philip and Shawn/Steve stopped each other from getting the drug. Both equally at fault. Who/what will ultimately save Bo? And with everything going on, is a Salem where it's looking likely that EJ is about to own the hospital imminent?
    • Oddly.. Chase and Steve seem to have both vanished from the canvas in December so the Estelle return loses impact when two of her kids stop appearing shortly after her return (and I assume TR leaves in early 1986 as well). The Steve recast doesn't work... but it's odd that he has a long scene with Teri with Cagney looking jealous.. when the majority of his time on the show previously was a relationship and engagement to Stephanie (who he barely has a scene with in the episodes I see). Your idea for Wendy/Bela/Stephanie sounds just like what Ryan's Hope did with Michael/Kim/Rae... and considering Louise Shaffer was playing Rae and Stephanie.. it would have been a lousy redux of a superior story on another soap (that had months of build-up) I think Quinn becoming assistant to Stephanie was Mayer/Braxton... but not 100 % sure. I don't know if Mayer/Braxton was setting up Sarah as a bad girl disguised as a good girl.. but the actress (Joyner) was playing the scenes in that manner.. and Tomlin wisely tapped into that when he took over.
    • She’s such a caricature - which is a shame because I think the actress is capable of so much more.   I don’t know why Cady often feels like she has overcompensated in her performances. She already proved she can play much more than just Dixie Cooley during her first stint at ATWT (her best acting era). Her performances in various roles since then have been quite strange at times.
    • It feels like the show suddenly woke up today and remembered it was Sweeps month. Lots of action and forward momentum, including a delicious Nina/Carly fight.
