I wonder how they will style Sherilyn on the show. That hair always seems so un-Audrey.

She and Sheryl do look very pretty, and like their actual age.

She does look a bit blowsy, doesn't she? I wouldn't be surprised if Lynch leaned into that and made Audrey a bit tragicomic, but I also know he has such love for Sherilyn that he would never mock her.

WTTP is running with it:

These three revelations were made this afternoon by Sherilyn Fenn and Sheryl Lee during a Twin Peaks panel at Crypticon in Seattle. “Yes. Those were the major reveals,” confirms the panel’s moderator, Steve Lange, in a message to Welcome to Twin Peaks. “They didn’t seem to know much past that,” he added.

From some film or stage event tonight, per Twitter:

Ray Wise says he can't confirm or deny appearing on the 2016 Twin Peaks revival, but he gave the audience a huge wink.

Long video from Crypticon, with Sheryl and Sherilyn:

18 episodes is confirmed. Sheryl Lee admits she has no idea how she's coming back. Sherilyn is in rare form.

A local TV news affiliate heads up to Snoqualmie, site of filming for the original pilot, various exteriors and FWWM, and speaks to some local businesses hoping for a boom, including Twede's Diner (the Double R). The owner confirms Lynch and Showtime are permanently renovating and remodeling the space, which from what I've heard desperately needs it. This fits with what Sherilyn Fenn said in the above video, that Lynch and/or elements of the production had already made a trip back to the location in preparation. Filming is confirmed for September, which suits the show's usual mood and climate. Video at the link.

The more official detail leaks, the less I believe this is happening after 25 years. I am still stunned.

Meanwhile, a passing motorist (and fan) on social media notes odd markings near the site of the town sign.

From the aforementioned French fan on social media, who is currently in North Bend, WA and spoke with the proprietor of Twede's:

Kyle Twede: David Lynch came last xmas. He scouted the locations and expressed intense desire to shoot the whole thing here.

One might surmise this may have been part of the budget dispute with Showtime, which surely would have preferred less location shooting. Now, however, they may be getting two seasons worth.

The aforementioned intrepid fan (apparently doing work for an unrelated French commercial production) continues his tour of TP locations and gathering info from the locals, including the proprietor of "Dirtfish Racing," the establishment which served as the location for the Twin Peaks sheriff's station:

Had a chat with the Dirt School Racing owner. He was very, very friendly but refused to tell me anything about it. [...] But he insisted on how it remained EXACTLY like it was 25y ago, and told me "I can't talk about it", not "I don't know"...

Photos of his trip to the locale can be found on his Twitter account. It does look very, very similar to 1991.

Here's his on-camera interview with Kyle Twede, owner of Twede's Diner:

Kyle MacLachlan talks to the Wall Street Journal.

The last time we saw Agent Cooper, not including Lynch’s companion film “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me,” he was trapped in the mysterious Black Lodge while an evil, cackling version of Cooper was set to run amok in the town of Twin Peaks. McLachlan, whose return to the role was announced in January, said he hasn’t read the scripts for the new series of episodes, but he said that what he knows is exciting, and that he will head to Los Angeles in a few days to sit down and “move through it.”

“David and I have spoken a little bit. He’s asked me to be pretty tight-lipped about what we discussed,” the actor said. “He hasn’t talked in great detail about relationships, or who or what or who with, those kinds of questions, but what he said specifically about the character has made me really, really excited to get back into that world.”

MacLachlan said the most exciting thing about the project, however, is that he’ll be working again with Lynch.

“It’s been such a long time since I’ve actually worked with David Lynch,” he said. “Our friendship is strong, and our working relationship is something I’m really excited to get back into.”

MacLachlan said he heard filming could begin in September or October, although he cautioned that it is not written anywhere yet. Indeed, Showtime said that a production start date has yet to be set, even though pre-production is under way.

Old, but I came across this, found it interesting. I wonder if it will factor at all in the new series?

I didn’t quite understand this bit 100%, but he did say that the key to Cooper’s rescue would have involved time travel; that we all have Black Lodge doppelgangers, and they all exist about 2 minutes (or hours? I don’t remember which one, sorry guys) behind us in time, which is why we don’t see them. So rescuing Cooper would have involved going back in time 2 minutes or hours to find his other self. (If that makes sense, I hope.)

Reminds me of that scene in FWWM with Phillip Jeffries, Coop and the security camera.

Showtime has begun promoting its new streaming service with a promo that features very brief, old archival clips from Twin Peaks as one of the shows on its roster.
