How old was GT when she joined OLTL? 22? 23? And I think she looked wonderful back then, too. However, by the time she popped up at GL, I felt she looked much older and much "harder."

I agree.

She actually commented on it at the time saying she lost a lot of weight near the end of her first One Life to Live run around 1999. She also has those small wrinkles around her mouth which are common after weight loss.

I'm shocked Justin is returning to daytime. He has been getting steady work in primetime for years, what gives?

Child support, brah. It takes a check to raise a child.

True. Does the child live with Justin or Lindsay or do they have shared custody I wonder?

The same viewers who insist that Bryton looks "too young" ignore Y&R backburnering the "mature" looking Lamon & Redaric.

neither of them can act, tho. They are both ex-MODELS that Y&R were trying to make happen because of their looks... oh well.

Let's put it this way: "mature," in this case, is being able to share an intimate moment on-screen with your love interest (whether it's a mere conversation, or something...deeper than that) without it looking as if you are "playing House" in your backyard shed with the daughter of the pastor from your parents' church while your mother and father are serving him iced tea and entertaining him indoors.

That's right, they do. But Devon isn't a teenager, and neither is Bryton. (That is, unless I am mistaken, which is totally possible, lol.). Bryton is not a teenager, and even though he is in his mid-twenties IRL, he looks less than that on-screen -- and therein lies the dilemma, IMO.

spot on. I was CACKLING when Devon was 'taking' Hilary on the counter amongst the dry cleaning. laugh.png

it's like... are they being SERIOUS? I can't take him seriously as a romantic lead. And esp, in this SL, where SUDDENLY he no longer considers Neil his damn father (going by the way he refers to him and seems to feel ZERO guilt)... idiotic mess.

I am sure you were one of the few. I don't see much sentiment along those lines with respect to Devon and Hilary's chemistry and "sex" scenes. But hey, at least you got some enjoyment out of it. tongue.png Still trying to figure out why Bryton was the lone example you came up with for AGE inappropriate pairings though? It must really be making you feel some type of way that he is in a front burner popular story and a popular pairing.

Now, I don't understand this. White folks on soap operas are seduced in all kinds of places that could be romantic: on the beach, at the restaurant during a candlelight supper, in front of the fireplace in the den, sometimes even in an actual bedroom. But when "we" decide to do the do, where do we go? The [!@#$%^&*] laundry room at the health club? With the dirty gym clothes and [!@#$%^&*]? Say what!?

I'm just glad it wasn't a laundromat in the ghetto. I mean, could you imagine somebody like Florida Evans or Mary Jenkins walking in on the two with her basket of clothes, her large box of Tide, and her roll of quarters? Lawd!

^ Well, at least it wasn't a dumpster. Wasn't it Phyllis who did it against a back ally dumpster with Deacon? That was truly disgusting.

Trash is as trash does.

So what were they trying to say about Hevon. They called it a steam room...so I guess they are "steamy". lol
