June 25, 201411 yr Member Sad loss, but he lived a good long and seemingly happy life doing what he loved to do. One of the best character actors around. I honestly think the Method works better for character parts than leading parts. Like, if James Dean had lived, his style of method acting would have started to grate and appear juvenile. With the character actors, they are able to use the Method to disappear into the roles, to really become the role, to give it quirks. Eli Wallach pretty much stole The Godfather III up from under Al Pacino. He, Andy Garcia and poor Sofia Coppola or the only things I remember standing out from that film. June 25, 201411 yr Member I guess his most famous role was as the Ugly in "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" but reading about him he said it was Mr Freeze in the Batman TV show that generated the most fan mail. 98 is a good run for anybody. RIP
