There's an option because ABC does not care about the show, does not want the show but is forced to keep it. GH will never get better. Every now and again, there will be a hit that lasts a few eppies, but overall, the show is a big miss!

Chit I know you like Roger Howarth and the chemistry with Laura Wright, but it's really time to cut their losses with this one. Really. Howarth is playing it like the joke that it is and he's embarassing to watch. That spray paint garbage Friday? Like seriously? He acts like he has a seizure. I did chuckle at an exapserated Carly telling him she WAS mad at him and storming out, but seriously, it's really really bad. De-Qing him was the first mistake. I think Patrick has far more potential for a better story and can actually give a decent performance. Howarth is disappointing me beyond belief and the writing is just dreadful.

Puke is a complete waste of time, though Geary's at least putting in effort now. He's gone for half the year on his little Amsterdam vacations and he makes ridiculous demands when he doesn't like the story. Dump him. And I don't even care if Laura ever returns at this point either.

I'm not playin' with this show anymore. LOL.

I think some characters are redeemable, and not awful, and I'm not sure I agree keeping Sobby at all. Teresa isn't bad but the character's pathetic. Carlos was spot on with Sabrina and Patrick and it's ruining both of their characters.

Molly could be recast.

I FORGOT about Sam. LMAO. What does that say about her and Monaco? Dump her too or tell her to actually put in some effort. I also almost forgot about Felix.

Under THIS regime, I'd dump everyone I listed. They won't fix any of them. I think a more competent writer could salvage some of them.

There's no need to waste money building Charles Street sets. Just move some of them into the brownstone cause they still have those sets. I still don't why all of them are all living in that hotel.

They still have the brownstone sets yet don't use them? That's sad. And I still miss the nice pier Do they still have that too? I mean, I actually don't mind them having a dirty seedy pier (they should) but the nice pier just screamed GH to me for the longest time. I'll never buy them feeding ducks where Jason was shot and pushed off the pier.

Great list! Love it! It's pretty obvious I love Obrecht though. At least Kathleen Gati is a laughingstock in terms of bad acting

 

 

I think she does a great job and anyone who thinks she is a bad actress isn't really looking.  

 

She never breaks character and plays that OTT accent no matter what heightened emotion she is called upon to play.   No matter how ridiculous the dialogue and plot she stays in character.   Now lets look at the years of posts made by fans of actors they actually like.  "Poor Kelly, she looks so bored."   "Tyler is phoning it it waiting for a story"  "Jason Thompson checked out of these scenes and who can blame him?"

 

I blame him.  It is the actor's job not to look bored and there is no excuse for an actor tempering his performance based on whether or not he approves of his story.  Gati never looks bored, she gives every scene her complete attention whether it be villainy or comedy or nonsense.   Who on GH this year has matched Gati's scene when Faison asked Olbrecht to wear the mask?   The only one that has is Finola Hughes, and that was when she was playing Olbrecht pretending to be Anna.

They STILL have the Brownstone sets and all they've been doing is gather dust? They should put them to good use

quartermaine, Kathleen Gati just plays a cartoon. But I love seeing her play Dr. O as every bit the cartoon that she is. She's INFINITELY more entertaining than Howarth, who is just a very embarrassing ham. And I've also said a couple times in the thread that she's also much less offensive than many other people on GH. That helps.

I enjoy Gati the same way I enjoy Holland Taylor, Andrea Evans, Erika Slezak as Niki Smith, McKenzie Westmore (when her character on Passions became a crazy bitch the last couple years), Tari Signor, Barbara Rhoades, and of course Faye Dunaway as the fabulous Joan Crawford in Mommie Dearest. Those are all cases where bad acting is hilariously bad and not abysmally bad. And I love Gati's accent as Dr. O.

I remember how the cheesy accent was the only sort of bearable thing about Kelly Sullivan as Connie. Everything else about her was TERRIBLE.

It's nice that she doesn't phone it in, but then, neither did Kelly Sullivan. Ultimately I find her work one-note.

Gati isn't a bad actress. The character is beyond over the top and she plays it as such. On one hand I can see what you're saying but I'm trying to give her the benefit of the doubt.

The scriptwriting is atrocious. All of the SW's should be fired or taught how to write a compelling soap. It's so uneven.

I don't even know where to start with Sullivan. Oy.
