Y&R: January 2014 Discussion Thread

Summer's drug use...she took a pill about 3 weeks ago. How did that become deadly? Maybe if they showed her take another pill? I just don't get it.

Contrast with the drug-related umbrella SL that Days of our Lives is putting on the screen right now, stories that actually have the ring of truth about them, the groundwork for which has been laid over the past year and longer. This Y&R insta-plot just looks so shabby next to that. If Y&R can't invest in the story, why should we?

What left was there to tell in Paul and Ricky's story beyond bringing that awful Daisy back?

Well one big thing I always wanted to know was who was watching Paul at the grave when he went to visit Ricky.

I still don't think that would've led anywhere but to a Daisy return.

So they just dropped it like it never happened? Don't like that at all.

Sneak Peek of Michael Logan's interview with David Tom. Spoiler picture attached.

That looks like Miller in the still to me.

I can't imagine how they're going to close that story out so fast.

In other news, just about everything on this show sucks. I don't know what Kelly does but her office looks like it's at the state prison.

They still had Paul address the fact that he killed his son which was the most important part of that story. No one cares to see Daisy come back and Eva Longoria was never coming back to make it Isabella.

It is still BM in the picture. I think those are their final scenes on the show. Also interesting that DT says that his audition was a secret. Curious to read this entire interview.

That is miller.

One way to close the story out is

for Them to wrestle over the gun and Adam to be shot and killed. A trial occurs that uses stand your ground as a defense with a few contract players on the jury as well. Billy gets off

That would be both a huge payoff for fans and a fitting end to the psychopath Adam. Plus it would be relevant to social issues.

I seccond that sentiment. The show looks awful, the dialogue is terrible and the so-called stories are either boring and/or crap. As for the aforementioned "Umbrella stories", you should send those writer an umbrella as they obviously have no clue what you guys are talking about...

They are really flubbing the dialoque on this show - Abby and Tyler, Dylan and Avery... They are throwing stupid monkeywrenches into scenes that should be seamless. Dylan leaving Avery during the "NYE" dinner she planned for him - stupid. I've already complained about the Tyler and Abby conversation after their first trip to LA. I felt it again listening to Lauren and Neil's convo on today's show. Stop trying to reinvent the wheel. Stop throwing so many barricades into the flow of the show. Let it flow. Let things take a natural progression. It is so frustrating. This is not Y&R quality writing. Not even close. Altman and Passante are going to kill this show.

It's a non-profit organization. I think it's good that donations are not going into overhead and decor.

Good grief, what mistreatment? Yes, basically he was fired, but he could have agreed to the show's terms and stayed.

Why is Avery unloading all this information about her past with Dullan to Leslie?

She only came over to pick up some legal papers which Avery failed to read because she was busy trying to impress Dullan. Leslie didn't even act like she cared when Avery took her trip down memory lane.
