Right now, it seems he's making unauthorized purchases on new billionaire Devon's credit card. This doesn't make any sense to me because Devon never seemed like a spendthrift and I can't understand why the bank/cc company wouldn't have alerted him or why Devon wouldn't notice all these expenses in the first place.

But I guess the credit card fraud is a (contrived) set up for Mason to get caught or something. I hope they don't get rid of him. Okay, I admit, I do like to look at him. When he's in a towel. Especially if it looks like it's about to come off.

Its funny you say that devon dumped her. The writers tried to flip it like it was her choice and her dumping but really she had no choice if she was going to have any self respect and dignity. But hey, it was enough to appease those who will say devon left her for hilary when he got money...

No. And thank god. It had become ridiculous.

Of course, another life style change happening off screen. Contemporary (lazy) soap writing at its finest. What has Devon been ringing up a lot lately? Coffee? Because the only time I can remember seeing him whip out the cash is at watering holes (Crimson Lights, the Athletic Club, the Underground)

.

Meanwhile we get numerous scenes of Mason practically reading off the account number while ordering very specific items. We even got to see him sign a receipt. By the way, why do I only remember seeing Devon pay in cash?!

Something is truly wrong with the mechanics and execution of this fraud storyline. There are missing pieces in how this story ought to be told.

I have already stated my hopes for Mason...I want him to take Abby from Tyler. There is no drama with Abby and Tyler. Abby needs to be with someone Victor hates. Someone Victor thinks is a social climber gold digger like Ryan and Brad. Mason fits the bill.

It was Roxy...she put down money on a condo. There is a difference between 30k and $150. Mason is not making big purchases.

    • Poor Philip. I appreciate how seriously his and Xander’s scenes were taken though. It felt like real drama and not like a big joke. You could actually feel Xander’s pain and anger. It adds another dynamic to the Kiriakis family storylines and I’m looking forward to the effects that this is going to have across the canvas. I can see them weaving Kate and Roman into this storyline as well. And it would be really nice if this somehow helped cause conflict for Stephanie/Alex too, especially because of what Alex did today. With any luck, Stephanie will be furious about it.  And I’m glad that Sarah has Maggie to confide in about her secret. I also liked seeing Steve and Shawn (and their matching jackets

) continue to be on the case. Kevin, revealing everything to them is another interesting turn in this storyline. Plus, it seems the writing has improved for Shawn as well.
    • TBF, I don't think we've seen her interact enough with the "have-nots" to know if she is or isn't. It's possible, but I don't think you can say that from her interactions with Eva and Silkpress.
    • You're right - though I did confuse his name with an actual actor who was on Dynasty.

    • "Might" is not "is". And I was talking about the specific case about her attitude to Eva.
    • But she can still be a priveliged elitist. She might have the same attitude to anyone from 'the wrong side of the tracks' whether they had an agenda or not. Nicole seems to be an outlier in her family. Her parents, kids and sister seem to think themselves above reproach.
    • Damian's clothes have definitely been a specific look -kinda reads 70's pimp to me . I guess it's a trend?? but it seems more suited to Holden. JR is 51  and I guess Damian is supposed to be a little younger but it looks a little odd on him in my book. But at least they're trying. The men's clothing has been bland/generic for years-either suits or basic casual stuff interchangeable  b/w them.
