KH is a bit too shrill to make it work for me. She doesn't have the natural softness that JJ exudes and I think that's necessary as I appreciate the juxtaposition between Karen and Bill. KH comes across more suited for a Brooke type. She'd work as a Donna recast

From what I've seen of JJ lately, she's quite rough around the edges. When she's with Bill, she's so masculine.

I agree, but she'd be the last person I'd pick. Make that 2nd to last because Beth Chamberlain? No freaking way! So far, I'd say Kelly H is the idea, but then I have to think about the writing and wonder if it really matters who they cast.

The good thing about recasting now is that Karen's relationships - Dani, Bill, Katie, Caroline are all fairly "new" - meaning that it's not like a recast will cause this huge loss of not being able to use "old" clips. Karen has the ability to be an interesting link across the board. Plus, I'd love someone like KMH to kind of b*tch slap (with words) Brooke. Whoever is cast, has to have a tough edge to them, while at the same time being able to be sensitive. The reality is that this isn't a major part, but an important link to a lot of current characters.

I'll add to it that I don't think it's necessary to have 2 "butch" lesbians. KMH would bring sex appeal and an energy that is needed so that the entire audience will be drawn to and embrace this character.

If Michelle can keep her dick off the table and play nice, this just may work. However, I think KMH would be a super fit. Besides, it would be great to not see these same actors in the same circle. Kelly back on Daytime would be good to see.
