Come to think of it Ginger Smith said she gave David Canary a contract that allowed him to appear when he wants to. Well, David was treated the same way as Ray McDonnell by ABC and the move to LA effected them the same way. Maybe her saying he got that kind of contract was a guise since Ray McDonnell wasnt given one like that.

All caught up. Really enjoyed the gala & have a lot the same thoughts that were already posted- was sad to see DC seeming a little more frail than I remember from the end of ABC or I think even the PP early eps

Does Colby not know David messed with the sizzle reel or just not care? I would have thought she would have caught on immediately but maybe she was distracted by Adam

Billy Clyde's concern about Jesse driving drunk was endearing and hilarious.

Oliver is adorable but also reminded me a lot of Max Santos, Mateo's older son, who I HATED more than any soap child ever. I was glad Opal kind of recognized Abuela. I was ready for JR & Cara's ridiculous plan to start coming apart.

I find myself liking Dr. Anders more & more & also liked the Dixie/Cara scene. What is Tad working on? I don't even miss him but this is starting to seem ridiculous. Also excited that things are a little tense between Brooke & Dixie- so much history to play.

Kind of disappointed that Angie seemed annoyed with David after Jesse's tirade. I was maybe unrealistically hoping she would stay- they had been having such a lovely time & it was so nice to see her enjoying herself for the first time since like week 1.

Why was JR's hair so big? From a distance, it looked identical to Dani's twist updo on OLTL.

Angie left to be with her husband and to behave like a bona fide good wife should supporting her husband. Need more Jesse and Angie feeding strawberries like in the premiere episode and Hubbard family cookouts in their beautiful patio we are not seeing. AMC needs more of that. Hubbard's coming together in prayer and family love. The Hubbard family is the best with that. Miss Frankie Natalia Randi Brot and it is time for a Hubbard grandchild.

I suspect Ray holds a similarly privileged position--I get the impression nobody expected him to be as eager and willing to work as much as he did, and while filming they used him more than expected--but I'm probably projecting. Either way, Jordi Vilasuso probably wishes he had as much material as Canary...

I didn't see annoyance with David. I saw her feeling guilty for experiencing a moment of pleasure in his arms. I saw an extension of how bad she felt about being at Jesse's side when Cass was getting an abortion. Everytime Angie tries to do the right thing - in this case coming to the gala to support Dixie - something else goes wrong. David absolved her of guilt for ten seconds and Jesse had a public meltdown.

One of the things I love about the writing for Angie (and Dixie and Brooke) is that they show isn't feeling driven to show the women (or men) having it all. Angie is torn between her husband, her child and herself. Brooke is trying to run her common law husband's business even as his children humiliate her publicly and treat her like a barracuda. Dixie is trying to be a good mother, grandmother and a competent professional even while she tries to be a good friend to Tad's ex-wife who just happens to be JR's new girlfriend.

The writing for women on this show has healed my soap feminist soul.

I've liked Dr Anders more than others here have, but this was the first time he really worked for me--his scenes with Dixie were endearing.

Ah yes, that sounds like the exciting soap opera the audiences are craving and not getting from AMC.

Seeing the dance-off and Jesse's drunken display more than.once never gets old, still very funny

I hate that Hulu doesn't count repeat views. If they did, I bet the "Drunk for Love" clip would be in the top ten.

It definitely should, and everyone's reactions in the background when Jesse is going off on David, priceless

Greens--poor Oliver, he hasn't even pulled out a map yet, and you're comparing him to "Maps" Santos...

Ha he really kind of reminded me of him. But he's by no means on the level of the not so dearly departed Maps.

Ah yes, that sounds like the exciting soap opera the audiences are craving and not getting from AMC.

You don't like patios or cookouts on patios? You secretly hate All My Children

Hmm ok yes that makes much more sense. I was too distracted by Darnell to view those scenes clearly & I've only watched once.

Hubbard family cookouts in their beautiful patio we are not seeing.

Next season on All My Children...

Cass will be out for her first evening out with Pete and Colby. Jesse won’t be there, of course, since he will be working his first shift at Zach’s casino.

David will drop by dinner from the Serving Spoon. Nothing fancy just some torta rustica, balsamic roasted vegetables, orzo pilaf and some marzipan dipped in dark chocolate for dessert.

“I know that that my brother and Colby will make sure that Cassandra has a good dinner," he says. "I just wanted to make sure that you did too.”

“David Hayward,” Angie says, her voice thick with feeling, “This is one of the sweetest things anyone has done for me.”

“You deserve it,” he says. “I just wish I could give you more.” He finds himself looking into her soft, brown eyes and catching his breath.

A smile breaks Angie’s face.

That smile. Thinks David. Few things have ever made him feel as content and gratified as Angie Hubbard's smile.

“How about we eat out on the patio? In a few weeks it’ll be too cold but I feel like dining al fresco tonight,” she says.

“Great,” David will say. “I’ll serve this up if you will pour the wine.”

Tonight, he thinks. I'm going to tell her tonight.

Or you know, something like that. laugh.png

There are tears streaming down my face from laughing so hard. You may have to write some more mini patio adventures to tide us through to Season 2.
