July 20, 201312 yr Member Exciting news today! MAN OF STEEL sequel with feature Batman and is scheduled for 2015 (I knew that 2014 was just too optimistic) http://movies.yahoo.com/blogs/movie-talk/batman-set-join-superman-man-steel-sequel-2015-180719840.html Edited August 10, 20169 yr by YRBB
July 21, 201312 yr Member They need Bale to make this work. Avengers needed Robert Downey Jr get it off the ground, and this isn't the movie to start with a recast. Have Christian Bale lend his bat-status to this, and then recast. This Superman opened up to mixed reviews and someone is needed to carry this film.
July 21, 201312 yr Member mixed reviews, who gives a crap I don't think Bale is needed, they need to keep the Bale-verse & this one separate
July 21, 201312 yr Author Member I have to agree, the mixed reviews don't count in this case because the movie has been a financial success. And I would argue that Cavill did an excellent job carrying the movie.
July 22, 201312 yr Member Mixed reviews? I saw like 3 negative reviews and the essence of them was that they thought it had too much action or that something was off.... Anyways loved the film and this is exciting news!
July 22, 201312 yr Administrator Yeah, Bale already said he won't be back as Batman, so I see no problem with getting a new one. Can't wait for 2015!

Anyways loved the film and this is exciting news! It certainly did get mixed reviews--I don't see how that can be argued. http://www.metacritic.com/movie/man-of-steel I'd call that mixed... Regardless, it made good money, as people said and that's what matters for a sequel. I'll be interested to see how this is handled--I wish we weren't getting Znyder back, but...

Bale is done with the role. There is no point in getting him to come back for another and then recast. Batman's arc was finished up in Nolan's films. Since they are going in a new direction and most likely new continuity, they need a new actor.
July 23, 201312 yr Member As much as I liked Bale's Batman, I think they'll be fine with a new actor in the role. There's been 4 actors in the role since Tim Burton's original 1989 film. I think by this point many are used Bruce Wayne/Batman being recasted.
July 24, 201312 yr Administrator I think Ryan Gosling would be a good choice for Batman/Bruce. If they do connect the Nolan-verse to Man of Steel, maybe Joseph Gordon Levitt as new Batman.
July 25, 201312 yr Member Bale got progressively worse as the Batman films progressed....just no to that idea. That Tyler guy from Teen Wolf is being rumored. He's certainly good looking enough for me to play the playboy billionaire Bruce Wayne... Not sure bout Ryan Gosling. Certainly a great actor who takes it seriously but I'm afraid he'd try too hard and it wouldn't feel natural or authentic....
August 13, 201312 yr Member Apparently they've offered Christian Bale 50 million to reprise the role.
August 13, 201312 yr Author Member I'm reading rumors of Orlando Bloom being considered tor Bruce/Batman Hopefully not. Apparently they've offered Christian Bale 50 million to reprise the role. I wonder if he'll do it. It would be exciting, but I also wouldn't mind a fresh face.
