Yes, I always wanted the Deluxe edition, too

I love Speak Now but couldn't even finish listening to Red. Maybe I'll give it another shot some day.

WOW. I did not expect Style as the third single (or perhaps, I was hoping it wouldn't be). Not sure how happy I am about that but it does seem like a predictable choice, regardless.

Guys, my 26th birthday is on February 28th, and after thinking about it for quite awhile, I think I am going to ask for the deluxe version of 1989 for my birthday. I'm not sure what I'll think of every song--I detest "Shake It Off", but I love "Blank Space"--but after hearing the samples on iTunes again, I think I want to finally take the plunge and hear it for myself. And yes, I want the deluxe version from Target. What can I say? I'm a completist. laugh.png

Yes! Give in! smile.png Did you see this on SNL from a couple months ago?

"Dammit, she got me!" - That's bascially all the new people buying her albums. LOL laugh.png

I might even ask for another of her albums or two--I like some of her songs on Speak Now and Red especially. With Spotify out of the question, I have to go hardcore here. smile.png

Fearless is great too. It won the Grammy for Album of The Year in 2010. Just go all out and buy all her albums. wink.png And yes, always get the deluxe/platinum versions.

I love Red so much - it's a great mixture of pop, pop-rock, pop-country. I especially love the sad/heart-breaking songs on Red: All Too Well, Come Back...Be Here, I Almost Do, The Moment I Knew. And Begin Again is one of my favs too.

It was obvious Style would be the next single. Taylor performed it at the Victoria Secret Fashion Show and it was one of the best selling songs on iTunes from the album. It won't be released until February 10 but some radio stations started playing it last week and it's already rising on the charts. I will be shocked if the song doesn't hit #1 on the Hot 100. And I'm assuming she'll be performing it at the Grammys.

It looks like Taylor is continuing to give gifts to her fans and will be (might be) up to Valentines Day: http://www.buzzfeed.com/kristinharris/taylor-swift-sent-fan-money-to-pay-student-loans#.un8GdkdyZ3

Haha, yes I did see that sketch! Not to mention Taylor's approval of it, too. smile.png

I have joked in the past about how despite being born in 1989, I was already 24 by the time "22" was released as a single (and 23 when the album Red came out), so I will never have a song by her to sing on my birthday that has my appropriate age as the title. I know, life is hard. laugh.png

I want Bad Blood and Out of the Woods to be singled after Style.

I think those songs are the next most radio-friendly songs. She doesn't really put out any slower songs, so I'm kind of hoping she changes it up a bit and puts out Clean or This Love. But the percentages of her doing that aren't high. I think it will either be Bad Blood, Out of the Woods or I Know Places. The 4th and 5th single should be interesting since no one knows for sure and there's no big consensus. Blank Space and Style obvious choices right away.

"1989" just passed 4 million in album sales in just 12 weeks - it's the fastest to reach 4 million since Usher's "Confessions" in 2004. It took "Red" and Speak Now" 69 weeks to reach 4 million; "Fearless" took 50 weeks; and her debut album took 125 weeks. It's going to beat "Red" next week or the week after.

I heard Style on the radio for the first time the other day and I got SO excited. Too excited! lol Another extremely radio-friendly single.

If they play their cards right, she might end up with five big hits from this album.

Taylor's twitter and instagram got hacked today and they said they had nude pics of her.  This was her reponse.

Anyway, she posted another great message to a young fan on tumblr.

Fan: http://worldoftayswift.tumblr.com/post/108974934975/taylorswift-is-so-amazing-i-love-everything-she

taylorswift is so amazing. I love everything she does, so much, and I am so glad that she cares about the fans. Fans are everything to Taylor. She cares about them. I’ve been a fan for as long as I can remember. My name is Caillou Pettis, and I love you, your fans, etc. Your songs are so sweet, and they’ve got so much meaning in every lyric, and it really makes me smile to know that a celebrity with tens of millions of fans replies to fans. It’s incredible. I get bullied everyday, and I try to #ShakeItOff. One of the biggest reasons why I get bullied is my name. I couldn’t even tell you the amount of times I’ve been bullied because of it. I’ve been punched for it, etc. I also get bullied because I’m really skinny, but I’m proud of being skinny. I like my appearance. If people don’t like the way I look, they shouldn’t bully me.

Love, A Swiftie

Caillou Pettis

Caillou-

Hi pal.

I was really shocked to hear you say that you’d been bullied because of your name because the first thing I thought when I saw it was ‘woah, Caillou is such a cool name’. Honestly. I thought it was so cool because it’s different, and herein lies our issue: you will always be criticized and teased and bullied for things that make you different, but usually those things will be what set you apart. The things that set you apart from the pack, the things that you once thought were your weaknesses will someday become your strengths. So if they say you’re weird or annoying or strange or too this or not enough that, maybe it’s because you threaten them. Maybe you threaten them because you’re not the norm. And if you’re not the norm, give yourself a standing ovation.

Now I want to tell you that I think you look great the way you are. No one has the right to criticize you for how your body looks, but they will. One thing I’ve learned from experiencing this exact kind of criticism is that no one else can label your body except for you. No one gets to have a place in your mind if they weren’t invited there by you. So please do me this one favor: Don’t let their ugly words into your beautiful mind.

And if someone punches you again, call the police and report them because that is assault. I’m serious. There’s no direct penalty for bullying with words (except karma) but no one is allowed to hit you. Ever.

Thanks for telling me your story and for being so strong.

Proud of you, Caillou Pettis.

He replied by saying, "Im gonna read this every time I get upset."

I got excited too when I first heard it on the radio (last week) because I didn't expect it to hear it.  Can't wait for the video!

Taylor's not performing at the Grammys this year:

http://www.billboard.com/articles/events/grammys-2015/6458252/taylor-swift-grammy-plans

"Hey guys! A lot of you have been asking about the Grammys this week and I just wanted to give you an update. I'm really excited to be nominated for 3 Grammys this year and even more excited that I'll be there having a dance party/rage fest in the audience. I will also be presenting the award for Best New Artist. Since my whole life is wrapped up and entangled in the planning of The 1989 World Tour right now, I'm not going to be performing on the Grammys this year. I need this time to focus only on the tour. I hope I'll see you out there at one of the stadiums this summer having a rage fest of your own! Love you. Taylor"

:( I was hoping for a "Style" performance. I guess we'll see that at the Brit Awards instead. Also, if she was going to perform it would've been her fourth straight year. Most artists don't even get to perform two years in a row let alone three years in a row.

On Supernatural tonight, Dean (who mostly loves classic rock) was de-aged to about 14 or 15, and started enjoying Taylor Swift music. Once he got back to his normal age, "Shake It Off" came on the radio, and he decided he still liked it.

I laughed and for some reason thought of this thread.

10 weeks at #1! I hope it can at least get one more week at #1 so 1989 can tie Fearless.

Taylor Swift's '1989' Scores Milestone 10th Week at No. 1 on Billboard 200 Chart

Taylor Swift's 1989 album returns to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart for a milestone 10th nonconsecutive week, making Swift just the second woman in history to earn two albums with at least 10 weeks atop the list.

Swift previously logged 11 weeks at No. 1 with her second album, Fearless, in 2008 and 2009. (She has two further No. 1s: Speak Now, with six weeks at No. 1, and Red, with seven weeks in the penthouse.)

1989 steps back to No. 1 (rising 2-1) with 101,000 equivalent album units earned (down 15 percent) in the week ending Feb. 1, according to Nielsen Music. The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week based on multi-metric consumption, which includes traditional album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA).

Swift follows Whitney Houston as the only woman with multiple albums with 10 weeks at No. 1. Houston managed the feat three times: with her self-titled debut (14 weeks in 1986), her second album, Whitney (11 weeks in 1987) and The Bodyguard soundtrack (20 weeks in 1992 and 1993).

In total, only seven acts have claimed more than one album with 10 weeks at No. 1: Swift, Houston, The Beatles (with four), The Kingston Trio (three), Henry Mancini (two), The Monkees (two) and Elvis Presley (three).
