I just can't see how anyone thinks this is an "extreme" change in Colby's character....

Me either. I'm really wondering what scenes people are thinking about when they talk about this kinder, gentler, more layered Colby they miss so much.

It boggles my mind as well, Colby was always like this... I don't remember if Brianne's Colby was like this at all

I haven't watched AMC since like week 3 but I just had to see that sex scene. Yea it was a bit risque but people really are overreacting. I mean all he was doing was moaning. We didn't see her head doing anything and it's not like he was saying ya baby suck my #^$@. Hardly pornographic.

Finally watched this...

My favorite part of the episode was the Brooke/Dimitri convo. Wonderful to see them talk about the past, and not in a "See? WE KNOW HISOTRY!" way, but in a very natural way. Dimitri having no real communication with Maddie and Sam made me feel a little sad, but was true to the history of the characters. Surprisingly sad to hear about Wildwind being shut down, but again, believable, and I'm glad we got an explanation. Julia Barr did a great job of playing Brooke as trying not to focus on her grief over Edmund. Michael Nader has aged, but I will take someone who's aged over someone who has hideous plastic surgery to try to look 30. His voice is the same, which probably matters more to me, as that was his most memorable characteristic.

The Cara/AJ/JR scenes managed everything - energy, pacing, showing the perspectives of all the characters. JR's self-loathing is coming to the fore. I think they should have waited one more episode to have him start taking the steroids, but the rest worked.

I agree with those who wanted Lea to respond to Zach's sexist garbage, but Lea's mixed feelings about Zach work better than I would have expected. I think Garces and Kaye have good chemistry together. She's still shaky in her acting but not as bad as I'd expected her to be. I think Kaye's been doing better and better and not just phoning in scenes.

Jesse's meltdown in the car was beautifully filmed - the lighting and the other touches. Jesse is getting so far into this mess and his angst over the whole thing still seems authentic and not just like cheap ham.

That Pete/Colby stuff mostly came across as forced and desperate to me, especially the blowjob scene, where, when she ordered him to keep going, she seemed like a lunatic. I wondered if she was going to bite it off. And her lingerie looked like something from 1970. Who gave her that trash? The hottest part of the scene was when she ripped his shirt open and then he picked her up to straddle him. Everything else was like someone watching porn parodies.

I went back and watched JB's reaction to Dimitri's mention of Edmund twice. That was great.

What Nader lost to drugs, he still has in swagger and charm. The moment where he swanned out of the Chandler living room with Brooke, waving with two fingers at J.R. and co. was great.

That whole scene with Brooke and Dimitri is why I watch soaps. Not just the history, but the effortless way it was woven into the conversation. They knew we knew, they respected that.

Jfung is saying it. Not everyone, LOL. Sorry JFung, I know it bothers you but this IS Colby (apart from the wild sex, however, again, it's been 5 years, girl was around the globe).

I agree, I'm not at all shocked by how Colby is acting. I totally expected Colby to come to town as a bitch in heels and she's exactly that. Granted, the actress is playing her a bit OTT but this is far from out of character. If anything, Colby blogging and being all sweet was out of character.

I thought the blowjob scene was hot and played well. A bit much, probably, but if folks can sit there and watch rape, abuse, etc. .... I'll take a hot sex scene anyday.

Dimitri's return has been, for me, wonderful. I think Nader looks great. Let's face it, the man is older and he's more or less been out of the spotlight for a decade. I think he's fit right back in. Opal's reaction to him just warmed my heart. And made me actually miss Erica for the first time. Briefly.

Well at least one or two other people on here said it--not just Jfung--and some depressed looking woman on skype on last week's More episode (and this week's since they showed the whole segment again) said it too :P.

Agreed about Nader. I actually expected him to seem a lot rougher, buthe fits right in.

I always get nervous about nostalgia returns because they can go so terribly, terribly wrong. (GH and Laura/GF is a good example of that.) I can admit now that I wasn't all that happy with Billy Clyde's return at first so when I heard Dimitri would be back I was really concerned. But I think he's fit back in very well, especially in light of Adam not being around.

PP just keeps busting my assumptions and doing it in a way that makes me grateful to be wrong.

Absolutely agreed (although I'm warming up to Billy Clyde's place in the show now that he's in town--I thought he was an uncomfortable mix with his humorous "happy hookers" and then the sex trafficking even if it was a clever way to introduce him back to the show.) ANd yeah, Dimi helps make up for Adam's lack of screentime. (Carl mentioned Nader's voice, and I admit I think it's that element as well--and this goes for Julia Barr too--that instantly makes me feel nostalgia for when I started watching AMC shortly after Wildwind was introduced.)

THIS. I was really uncomfortable with the idea of this very soapy character being used to add comic relief to a story that didn't have any place for it. But they basically used the story to introduce him instead of using him to lighten up the sex trafficking story so I think it worked. That said, I'm glad he's away from it.

I basically started watching during Dimitri and Erica's heyday as well, so he means a lot to me. I am so glad he's back, I never thought it would happen. His presence is like stepping into a warm bath.

I'm cool with Adam's lack of screentime because I really believe if DC wanted to do more, they would write for him. And while I know some others feel differently, I just don't need a big splashy Brooke/Adam wedding- if they marry them, fine, if not- fine but I don't think it would even be in character for Brooke to want some grand affair at this point of her life. Dimitri being back and sharing scenes with her is a joy since I also started watching mid Wildwind era- shortly after Dimitri & Erica's first wedding. I really would love for him to have a scene with Bianca.
