And just to drive the point home that this show is still being put out by people with very antiquated views about women's agency over their own bodies, we had the ridiculous spectacle of David screaming in the waiting area of a hospital - one in which he wishes to work - that women who have abortions are murderers. Even the doctor in charge, who had already threatened to call security on him, did nothing to intervene except offer pity to the apparently fallen woman after David finished his tantrum and left of his own accord. Good lord, abortion is a legal procedure; potentially disrupting medical care by disturbing the peace in the middle of a hospital is not. That's why in real life people who share David's views are at least confined to vocalizing them outside of medical facilities...

Honestly, looking at David in the long view, he was supportive of Bianca terminating her pregnancy. He didn't try to sway her either way and was clear that it needed to be her choice, and that was right after he'd lost Leora.

Since then though he's lost 2 additional children, one of whom was murdered right in front of him, he lost a wanted pregnancy with Krystal, and Trevor turned out to be Jake's son. He went to jail believing that Cara was truthful when she said she wanted him in their child's life. Then she lied to him about a miscarriage, cut off contact for five years, and then screamed at him that she terminated her pregnancy because he is such a despicable human being. I don't blame him for being pissed off, especially since she made it clear before the end of the show on ABC that she absolutely would have the baby. He has every right to hate her, and he is going to lose his mind when he finds out that child is alive and well and being kept from him.

I think there was also a Mexican drug cartel after Cara, so that's why she would lose her life if she was deported and Tad had to marry her. So it makes sense her mother and son would not be in Mexico.

It was never totally clear to me, but I got the impression on the TV show the whole family had moved to the United States a long time ago, but Cara had just never been able to become a citizen or permanent resident.

Also, I liked the webisodes too, EricMontreal; I think they used Griffin in particular better than the generic hero/doctor/David supporter (until he wasn't) role he had on the show.

How do I not remember all of this? LOL.

Eric Nelsen's acting isn't going to get any less OTT and one-note, any more subtle or layered, if people keep praising him for stuff like this!

Wow, I think he' sone of the better "newbies" in his age range to a soap in a long while. *shrug*

Which says so much about the quality these days of young actors on soaps, it's sickening.

Agreed. For me the bright spots of the rebooted AMC are Eric Nelsen, Denyse Tontz, and Vincent Irizarry.

Don't get me wrong: I think Eric Nelsen is good, too. I wonder, though, whether I think he's good because I have been subjected to so much bad from daytime for so long.

I like him too. I agree that he was a little too revved up in today's episode but I generally find him pretty good.

I wonder if Covin was hired to make all the other newbies look good.

I'm not kidding. I pray all the time that boy never wins an Academy Award. Or else I'll feel really stupid for making all those cracks about him as an actor.

Maybe you're right?

([!@#$%^&*], how do I post a picture of Jennifer Lawrence holding her Oscar?)
