The Winters have plenty of airtime now so airtime isn't the problem. Dull ass Neil and Lily are the problem and without Dru they are nothing.

BINGO!

I agree. Either bring back Dru (with VR in the role) or switch out the boring Winters for the vibrant Winters (i.e. Olivia, Malcolm, and Nate).

You ought to know me better than that! I want to forget that ever happened. I always said on here that Y&R should've snagged Aaron D. Spears from B&B and made him Malcolm instead.

While Neil can't stand on his own without Dru and Malcolm, I will argue that the writing for Lily is fine. It's the portrayer and the fact that a young character has twin kids that really drag Lily down now. CK can not play a sexy business woman about to have a hot affair. KSJ and CK are just so boring onscreen.

Even though I want the character dead (or at least leave town for good), I think the idea of recasting Phyllis a few months down the road is interesting.

If done right, it would be nice to see someone breathe new life into the character, something Stafford, IMO, gave up on doing a while ago.

People can talk about Sandra Nelson all they want, but I thought she brought some humour to the role, which perfectly balanced out Phyllis's more extreme tendencies at the time.

The funny thing is, Stafford left the last time just before the Daniel custody stuff, and now she's leaving as Summer's paternity is coming to the forefront again. This will probably leave them with a reason to definitely recast the part again.

Any and all problems with Lily could be solved by a recast which is probably coming. I have never liked Neil and KSJ cannot act, but I would not get rid of him. Neil's romance with Leslie should be killed. She is a great addition, but is way too young for him. Neil's airtime should be reduced and he can become the patriach of his little brood.

I liked Sandra Nelson as Phyllis. However, I don't want the role recast. Let Phyllis stay gone.

Kristoff is a solid actor (who has been with Y&R for over 20 years & won two Emmys) but he gets nothing in terms of writing (except inevitable pairings with Y&R's black actresses).

The only reason he currently has more screentime than Doug Davidson is because Y&R is using their token black actress of the moment (though they would NEVER seriously pair her with a white actor) as a sign of DIVERSITY.

The same Aaron Spears no one had any use for on B&B?

Sandra Nelson was a great recast.

She never ignored the writing in attempts to pander to fanbases or her own ego to make Phyllis sympathetic.

Her Phyllis owned her actions & ironically it made the character (and actress) more popular.

Stafford is lucky she came back at all. Bill Bell was not happy when she quit in 1997. Wasn't she supposed to initially do Y&R and Pacific Palisades at the same time, but quit Y&R because she couldn't cope with the work load she agreed to?

Of course it backfired on her ass when PP was canceled. Though, she did win her Supporting Actress Emmy after she left.
