Administrator Toups Posted April 16, 2013 Administrator Share Posted April 16, 2013 We have a primetime forum for primetime discussion. The discussion has to get back to daytime soaps or else I will have to move it.
Members Khan
Well, I've always believed "The Golden Girls" was a daytime soap opera deep down. Does that count?
Members Chris B
I've always felt P&G should've tried to get Hallmark to do TV movies for ATWT and GL characters and if one of them clicked it would be an easy way to develop a primetime series. As it stands, they use so many soap stars for their movies, so why not?

Members Ryan Chamberlain
Brendan was the Chuck Cunningham of the 90s. Well, him and Judy Winslow. I liked Mark better anyways. I wonder what Christopher Castille looks like now.

Members ~bl~
How would those shows mesh with the established TNT brand? The Hallmark idea is better, except it would have to be more folksy and no weird stuff. Maybe they could redo the soap books...
Members Khan
Frankly, I wouldn't mind if Hallmark mandated a more conservative, back-to-basics approach for whichever soaps they chose to revive. The "weird stuff" is what killed AS THE WORLD TURNS and GUIDING LIGHT in the first place.
Members P.J.
Love ya Ron...but I think I'm officially worn out on this subject. Tangent----why is there never any love for Falcon Crest? Granted, it was never the cultural icon Dallas was, but in some ways, I enjoyed it more. There were nights the combination of shirtless Lorenzo Lamas and Billy Moses left me in a puddle of drool. Members DRW50
Bad casting, bad writing, bad producing, no respect for history...didn't the last years of ATWT and GL already have that?
