This was the wrong time to do this kind of story with Lulu. With JMB in the role this would have had alot more emotional impact because they could have used flashbacks etc as she started to remember.

They can still do that and most likely will. RC has no problem recreating flashbacks so Im sure he'll have Rylan play out JMB's old scenes

After years of watching Julie Marie Berman act like a zombie in this role? You bet I'm excited for this.

At least the character might actually appear alive in her scenes for once.

As for Dante I honestly think the only reason those two have lasted so long is because !) He's Sonny's son and 2) Who else were they gonna pair her with? Dante had already been pimped out to Cougarville with Olivia (who I love don't get me wrong) and then later on Carly. All the other viable leading men were attached to other women.

I think at some point the writers were like "This is as good as we're gonna get with this character/actress" and just kept the two together.

So yeah I'm pretty excited to have her on GH. Hopefully she does well. But yeah lets at least give the girl a chance before we destroy her....

Sorry I must getting this new "Johnny Z" with original Johnny that as once in a relationship with Lulu.

My main point though is that there's hardly been any options for Lulu the last few years from what I've. And I'll be honest I stopped watching GH religiously years ago. I just tune in now and then to see if anything or anyone catches my interest.

Why did Berman leave GH again?

I am not a fan of Berman's, and I thought that Rylan was good on GL and Y&R, but this recast looked really awkward on screen.

I did want a change in the character, who had become so lethargic and listless. But I think this is the laziest way to go about it, and I think Ron has a horrible, horrible history with this exact storyline. If I hadn't seen him do it to Jessica, and didn't know exactly what's coming - for both Lulu and Dante, a character I really like and always have - I'd be a lot more open to it.

For me it's mostly plot over character. I think there was nothing to Lulu, as there has never been anything to her middle-aged husband and nothing to what her parents have become. So they just throw around old tired cliches instead of developing the characters. And we will hear that this is soapy goodness, and everything daytime can be.

I remember when both Dominic Zamprogna and I were about 10 or 11 in the '90s and I saw him in some movie. I beg to differ we are middle-aged. He's a dish as an adult. But I agree that's what they'll do.

I wanted them go back to who she was when they brought JMB on - Lulu was angry and hurt, she was a fighter, she had a large heart but she kept it protected. They just kinda lost all of that over her relationship with Dante, more than anything. She was still Lulu through her relationship with Logan, and Johnny. But then with Dante she became this nothing, nobody, general girl.

They could have given her a career path. She has just kinda fallen into these things - fashion magazine, casino boat owner.

I agree it lazy, and its hard to give it a chance when we have seen him do this story with jessica on OLTL - esp while hes using another jessica storyline with Kate/Connie (planned before his arrival, or not, he has dragged it on, and on, and on)

I love Dante, I think he's a great character with huge potential played by a fantastic actor. But the pairing with Lulu has always been fairly inert to me. He sells the hell out of it - now especially, and they may work better with a recast - but I always vastly preferred her with Johnny and Logan.
