I think the weird arts-and-crafty thing was what Crystal was going for, but I do feel it needed something else. Like a big full-costume reveal at the end as mentioned.

Ru seemed like she loved Jaida (in addition to how her win speaks to the moment). But if Gigi did indeed attempt to cheat, I can imagine that sealing Ru’s decision.

It's unfortunate that a show that has provided visibility for the LGBTQ+ community has also been plagued with so much racism. Although, maybe it was necessary so that there can be dialogue about race issues that are also found in the community.

I didn't see any racist comments personally, but I did see some Jaida fans calling other fans out and saying that Gigi's fans for that behavior.  I also saw a lot of comments saying Gigi should have won.

Ditto. She's been one of my all-time favorites forever...

+1 on the B.S. against Shangela, who is probably my overall favorite. Have y'all seen We're Here on HBO with Shangela, Bob the Drag Queen, and Eureka?

Finale - *So* glad Jaida won. It felt right. I'm not even going to critique the finale performances because Jaida was the one to beat all season long. Well done.

I didn’t watch much of S8. So Derrick Barry is part of a throuple?! He’s definitely the least attractive of the trio.

Ongina. Oof. I expect more from an OG queen.

India Ferrah did turn it. Her weather report back in S3 was one of my favorite Drag Race trainwrecks.

I didn't realize AS premeied already. I'll be catching it tonight. I knew Derrick Berry was in a trouple and I believe that one of his partners waz actually made over by Alaska in a makeover challenge during season 5 and then actually started his own drag career. I'm not 100 percent sure on the accuracy of that whole statement, but I know it's something like that.

Meh, this talent show was not it. I was super excited after seeing all these queens enter the workroom and then the talent show fell flat. The talent shows in previous AS were so much better and showcased different talents, I felt like everyone was pushing their music this time around. The reading challenge was also okay. There's always some weak reads and queens who just aren't made for the challenge, but I felt like there weren't many iconic or memorable reads.

Ricky was looking good. I think age has made him more attractive. I didn't think much of him when he first came on the scene and his 90s early 2000s.

Shea was the biggest let down because she was one of my faves going in, but that stripper set was okay. Still rooting for her because I know she has so much talent and so much to offer.

Derrick Berry saying he was so much more than a Britney impersonator, but all I saw was Britney. Derrick flipped that attitude when she was talking to India after being in the bottom 2.

Blair coming in with her plumped lips and cocky attitude. I miss the shy, cute Blair from her season but good for her for coming back more confident.

Overall, I'm excited for this season because I think there's a great group of queens.

Season 12 was draining and mediocre to me so I am happy they swapped the order and aired All Stars second. This is a nice change of pace. I love the lineup of women and the first episode was great

The talent show always annoys me because queens make our money lip syncing and they obviously can’t use regular songs so I feel it’s more difficult than if they truly had to showcase their talent. With that said, Mariah (stunning and timely!), Miz Cracker and Jujubee really impressed me. You could tell Shea wasn’t comfortable on the pole so that fell flat. India I know they loved, but her style of drag isn’t for me. It just seems so dated. Derrick was HILARIOUS! Just like on his season he is so tired but has a lovable airhead personality. He definitely is good for tv!

Going forward my favorite as of now is Jujubee with Mariah behind her. I hope Ongina can improve. I’ve been waiting for her on All Stars and she was great on season one. Tammie, Shannel, Bebe and Nina all did great on All Stars and it makes me sad that she’s the first season one girl to return and fall flat. Also, for next season I’d love for Nina and Tammie to get an All Stars redo. The team aspect royally screwed them And both were years ahead of their time. I still hate how Tammie returned so game to do well and she *did*, but it wasn’t enough. Her final lipsync with Latrice was true Rudemption from her first season lipsync where she didn’t know the words.

Derrick Barry wasn’t great but he also didn’t deserve bottom 2. That belongs to Ongina and Mayhem Filler. I’m rooting for Jujubee not only because she’s amazing but she’s also the only one that voted for the right person to go home. Blaire’s new found confidence feels hollow and forced. Hope she tones it down a bit. Love the lip sync assassin twist! Poor India never stood a chance against Yvie!

Ongina self destructed and went home.

That feathered gown needed an elaborate headdress to give Ongina more presence and height.

India's runway skin theme looked messy compared to the others and Mayhem's was also outclassed.

Shea was clear winner this week.

Mz Cracker getting the villian edit is annoying to me as I have found her quite likeable.

    • -- I agree that the vibes are there, but I can also make the case that it's a pale imitation. That Neil Winters Lounge is already a pretty classy place, but the decor make it look tackier. Those Happy Birthday signs are tragic in design and color. The tablecloths look like they've been chosen by Helen Keller. Where is Claire? We hear stupid reasons for her lateness, but we all know it's because this show is too cheap to pay for too many actors in any one episode. It makes NO sense that Victoria has that toast to Nikki without Claire's presence. And where is Cole? Off coughing somewhere? -- The rest of the show was watching people open their black invitations from Alexander Dumas -- for a party on June 13...TWO WEEKS AWAY. So we got through the entire sweeps and still no Dumas? The big sweeps reveal is a party in France in 2 weeks??? Why anyone thinks this is good soap is beyond me.
    • Chandler Massey smirked in EVERY scene in which he appeared. He's not a good actor. He cannot get into character, ever, and plays every scene like he's Chandler running into an old friend on the street. I hate it because actors should take their work seriously and respect it and everyone around them.   It's all so real, to the point where there's no sense trying to separate Drake from his character. I snarked a lot over the years about Drake Hogestyn's acting -- very arch, lots of tics, over-the-top at times -- but I also think he was a great soap star. There was so much humanity in everything he did, and he was always a comforting and stabilizing force on screen. Flashbacks on soaps are almost always special and fun, but does anyone come across as more loving and filled with humanity than John? I don't think so. DAYS has suffered a lot of loss in the past few years. For me, this one hits the hardest.
    • “I’m not a lifelong soap fan, but I sure am now,” Wolf tells PEOPLE about creating the documentary Soaps, which includes deep dives into the biggest and most successful soap operas in the industry, with a strong focus on The Bold and the Beautiful. “It reflects, in a broader way, the cultural significance of soap operas and the incredible task involved in bringing these stories to the screen every day.”
    • I have this for the 4th act on 11/9/88, which per my files, is the first time John and Stefano are in a scene together: Limo (Roman, Diana, Stefano, Milo) Then their second time together is 11/17/88 in the second-to-last act: ON LOCATION: Beach & Cliff (Diana, Roman, Stefano) I'd have to check the 2016 logs, so I don't know who shares scenes as easily in this year, but these are the last 4 episodes that John and Stefano were both in together: 1/8/16, 1/11/16, 3/1/16, 3/2/16.
    • I'm going to respond to you about this show. I've been accused of hating on it for some reason or another. But as a 53-year-old black man I do not hate this show at all. It heavily represents people like me, but I want it to be treated well and not just pushed with half-assedness, which is what I feel has happened on several occasions so far. Bad editing, bad cliffhangers, or no cliffhangers at all, disappearing characters with dropped storylines, etc. I can understand shows no longer wanting certain characters or  storylines, but why the "Judy Winslow" effect? I'm really finding it weird that Jacob doesn't mention his father or his detective partner. Jacob was smack dab in the middle of them both.
    • I love many things about BTG very much. For me, it's greatest strength is how the family relationships are so beautifully written. The deep love between family members while acknowledging each other's flaws--it's SO GOOD.  The best of the best is the two sister relationships: loving but very different sisters Dani and Nicole and adversarial sisters Kat and Eva. These two relationships can anchor the show for many years to come, in my opinion. (The one caveat is that the young and very talented Colby and Ambyr may want to leave the show sooner rather than later, but that's to be expected). My biggest problem with this show is this: Where are the romantic love stories? Where are the star-crossed lovers? Almost every character on this show is married, or in a committed relationship, or just fooling around. Right now the only potential for this are in the Ashley/Andre/Derek and Kat/Tomas/Eva situations. Like a lot of people, I feel the sooner they ditch Ashley and Derek, the better. I hate picking on actors, but the characters are so blah and bland it's like they're a parody of soap characters. I like Andre, and there's some indication they might have him become more serious about Dani, but I don't see that becoming a big love story. I could be wrong. Kat and Eva fighting over a man would be amazing. Over Tomas? No.  I've noticed on social media some people are starting to ship Kat and Jacob. I think that shows how much viewers long for a messy love story. There is much I enjoy about BTG and I have no intention of bailing on it. But over all my many years of watching soap operas, the thing that always got me the most excited about them was the question: "When are those two finally going to get together?"

Some initial thoughts.   1) a Who's who back in the day with an assortment of well known performers. 2) Surprised Debra Messing would agree to play a conservative character 3) Not surprised a network didn't pick this up because showing a conservative that is human/likable is a no no in Hollywood LOL
    • Yes from when they went on Let’s Make a Deal too. Pam stole Forrester designs for Jackie M. Of course a month later we saw Nick, Lesley, Owen, and Bridget all exit in the same episode.
